When individuals choose to welcome a sweet canine companion into their homes, it often happens spontaneously when they visit a shelter.
It’s uncommon for people to adopt stray dogs they discover on the streets. While adopting a stray isn’t wrong, sometimes destiny has plans of its own.
People can become so attached to a dog they find that they refuse to leave them behind, which leads to taking them in.
This is precisely what transpired with a woman on vacation who encountered the sweetest dog that changed her life entirely.
A Very Sick Pup
Upon first spotting Camilo on the beach, Nadya felt an immediate connection. He appeared so trusting, and she knew she wanted to assist him.
However, a small issue arose. Nadya had to return home soon and was running out of time, prompting her to devise a plan to help the dog.
She told The Dodo: “I could tell he was very tired, and finding out how sick he was made everything clear.”
Nadya initially believed that Camilo only required some vaccinations and paperwork, but the situation was far more complex.
His treatment would take significantly longer, and recovering from parasites proved challenging for Camilo. Consequently, Nadya missed her flight but felt no regret.
She also gave him a medicated bath in hopes of eliminating the fleas. He appeared so relaxed during the bath, a truly adorable sight.
A Trip Back Home
Now, Nadya needed to devise a way to return home. Despite the difficulty of catching a flight, she had a few options. She first traveled to New Mexico.
A friend picked her up there, and they headed towards Kansas. The journey was lengthy, but Camilo was just thrilled to be with his new mom.
Upon their arrival at home, this charming pup eagerly started exploring his new surroundings, full of excitement and tail wags.
Camilo transformed dramatically under her care. He even gained a new dog sibling, with whom he spends almost all his time.
The two now play in the backyard, take naps, and embark on wonderful adventures together with their mom.
Nadya expressed: “His personality has truly blossomed. He went from not understanding how to play with a toy to now having his own bucket of toys, knowing his favorites, and embracing his playful side like a real dog.”
Though Camilo’s past life was challenging, he has truly found his happy ending and is relishing a dream life with his incredible new family.
