Luida dedicated a significant part of her life to aiding animals in distress, particularly stray dogs which hold a special significance for her.
She was once again moved when she came across a video depicting four puppies living beneath a concrete slab. Without hesitation, she reached out to her colleague to assist in the rescue mission.
On that day, they invested considerable time looking through various locations around the city, yet their search yielded no results.
Just when they feared their efforts were in vain, they caught the faint sounds coming from beneath one of the slabs.
They Finally Found Them
Upon realizing they had found the correct location, Luida began maneuvering around the slab, tracking the sounds emanating from below.
Ultimately, she spotted a small gap between the slab and the ground and immediately crouched down to see where the puppies were hiding. Initially, she and her colleague could not reach them, so they opted to wait and see if one of the pups would come out.
After a short while, that moment finally came. One brave pup gathered enough courage to step out into the daylight, which prompted Luida to quickly scoop him up. To her relief, he didn’t resist, allowing them to safely transport him into a cage.
Regrettably, the other puppies appeared to be significantly more anxious, prompting Luida and her teammate to devise a plan. Staying true to the time-tested method, they filled a container with dog food and placed it at the entrance of the opening.
Though they had to practice patience for a while, the heads of three hungry pups finally appeared above ground, and they quickly acted to bring them to safety.
However, just as they were about to head to the vet for checkups, an instinct urged Luida to examine the area beneath the slab once more.
To her astonishment, she discovered that there were in fact five puppies in the hole. Tragically, one little pup had already passed away.
A Roller Coaster Of Emotions
As they travelled to the veterinary clinic, bittersweet emotions washed over them. They felt joy for rescuing these four little pups before tragedy struck.
Yet, Luida could never shake the image of the unfortunate puppy lying helplessly in the hole. This drove her to commit herself to doing whatever it took to spare the remaining pups from a similar fate.
Before determining the necessary treatment for the puppy that passed away, the vets had to uncover the underlying issues afflicting the others. It was visibly clear to them that the puppies were in dire straits.
Following a thorough examination, the veterinarians diagnosed them with parvovirus enteritis.
This condition is particularly hazardous for dogs, especially for young puppies. Consequently, the four little ones were required to remain at the clinic for further treatment.
In due course, Luida provided an update about their health on the comment section of the YouTube video capturing this rescue. She shared that three of the puppies were on the road to recovery, while one continued to battle for its life.
We sincerely hope for a positive outcome and that these resilient little fighters embark on their journey toward a brighter, happier life. It’s the very least they deserve after all they’ve endured.
