Tracy, a pet owner from Western Washington, is accustomed to unexpected visitors, thanks to her two cats and dog named Nelson. However, one morning, she was in for quite a surprise. At 5:30 a.m., Nelson woke her up to go outside, and upon returning and asking to be let back in, Tracy noticed he had company…
Unexpected Visitor

Nelson wagged his tail happily while waiting on the porch, completely unfazed by the early hour. As Tracy opened the door, she heard a noise behind her and was startled to see two glowing eyes peeking at her. In shock, she realized it was none other than Dozer, their neighbor’s dog!

“Nelson woke me up at 5:30am to go potty and guess who followed him home,” Tracy shared in the video. Dozer, a frequent visitor who occasionally rings her doorbell to be let inside, surprised her this time. Their bond goes back several years, and while his visits are typical, this early morning encounter was unexpected.
“He scares me a lot and I love him so much. Dozer got his treat, a cuddle and we went back to bed,” she added.
You Never Know When It’s ‘Dozer Time’

Dozer first visited Tracy three years ago when he bounded into her garage, wagging his tail. After receiving a treat and a cuddle, he went on his way, marking the beginning of a delightful friendship that includes regular visits. Dozer now comes around not just for treats, but for companionship and affection.

Dozer has become an integral part of the family, cozying up with Nelson and acclimating to the household routine. He walks in, receives his treats and cuddles, and often finds a quiet spot for a nap. There are nights when Dozer stays over to enjoy time with Tracy’s family before returning to his original home.
Tracy shares that Dozer walks about half a mile through farms and trees to reach her. Though the two families don’t communicate frequently, Dozer’s owners are content knowing he has a second home filled with love.

“He comes from about half a mile through farms and trees,” Tracy mentions in another video. Today, Dozer is a beloved member of this Washington household. Despite having his own family, he shares a special bond with Tracy and her family and truly seems to thrive in both environments. He even has his own TikTok account where Tracy documents his daily adventures. They cherish Dozer and hope his unique situation remains a source of joy rather than stress for him.
“I believe that Dozer is special and enjoys his life between homes,” Tracy concludes.
