This lovely couple from Virginia fell head over heels for a shelter dog—a German Shepherd named Daisy—who was soon to be available for adoption.
However, there was a tiny complication. The day they planned to adopt coincided with their wedding, prompting the couple to take extraordinary measures!
The Act Of Pure Sweetness
Without hesitation, Eduardo and Regan decided to apply for Daisy, the perfect 4-month-old German Shepherd for their family. They were determined to make the adoption happen despite the scheduling conflict!
The staff at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter instructed them to come back on October 28th, 2023, as Daisy was among those up for adoption during their official event in Lurton, Virginia, starting at 11 A.M.
The obstacle? Regan and Eduardo were scheduled to get married at that very same time.
This couple, who serve at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia, opted to shift their ceremony to 9 A.M., and they reached out to the officiant and all their friends. To their delight, everyone agreed to the new time.
After their delightful ceremony, they quickly took some photos and hurried to the shelter, eager to be the first ones to adopt Daisy.
“After learning that Daisy the puppy was ready to join her new family today, this couple wanted to be here when our doors opened for adoptions,” FCAS shared.
The sight of them waiting in their wedding attire melted everyone’s hearts!
“It’s clear that Daisy will be adored in her new home, and we couldn’t be happier for these newlyweds (and new dog parents),” the FCAS team posted on Facebook.
Eduardo and Regan showed tremendous enthusiasm and commitment to their long-awaited goal of adopting a dog, and the shelter staff felt grateful to see Daisy go to such loving owners.
This sweet pup was discovered on the streets as a tiny baby, and now she is set to enjoy an amazing home!
Daisy In A New Home
Daisy instantly bonded with her new family during their first encounter. She showered Regan with affection, delivering the sweetest kisses, which was a wonderful sign!
The connection was immediate, and Daisy embraced her new parents as if they had always been together, stepping into their new life seamlessly.
Perhaps the most heartwarming detail was that they managed to bring Daisy along to their wedding reception!
After welcoming a new member into their family, the thrilled GSD owners headed to continue their special day. Everyone was delighted to meet Daisy at the reception, especially knowing that she had joined their family on such a momentous occasion.
Daisy has already made herself at home, sneaking into bed for snuggles and figuring out her new life as a house dog—though she’s still learning the ropes!
