Compassionate Rescuers Discover the Pup
A kind-hearted couple from Virginia stumbled upon the charming dog while traveling cross-country to visit family. They found him alone on the roadside in Wichita, Kansas.
His sweet gaze captured their hearts immediately.
Recognizing that they needed to help him, the couple spent about an hour gaining his trust. Eventually, they succeeded in getting him to jump into their car.
They brought the pup, who would later be named Cheese, to Wichita Animal Services. The shelter staff were instantly captivated by his delightful personality.
To provide Cheese with proper care, he was transferred to the Kansas Humane Society, where staff discovered he had no microchip upon scanning.
The Family Decides to Bring the Pup Home
Cheese’s rescuer family quickly realized they had completely fallen in love with him.
They canceled their return flight and headed straight to the Kansas Humane Society Intake Department to complete the adoption paperwork.
The staff informed them that Cheese had contracted Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex, a contagious canine cold.
Despite this setback, the couple was undeterred. They were committed to adopting Cheese and placed a hold on the charming pup.
They returned to Virginia and eagerly awaited Cheese’s recovery.
The moment the sweet pup was medically cleared for adoption, the family immediately booked their flight to Wichita.
The Pooch Begins the Most Joyful Chapter of His Life
When Cheese’s new father arrived at the shelter to pick him up, the dog immediately leaped into his arms. They were overjoyed at their reunion.
The Kansas Humane Society staff had grown fond of the adorable pup, enjoying cuddles and the sight of his cheerful demeanor. Although they’d miss him dearly, they were thrilled that he had found his forever family.
“We feel immense joy whenever any of our animals find their forever homes, but this one was especially meaningful for our staff, who had all grown attached to him. We wish Cheese nothing but happiness in Virginia. This family loves him dearly, and we were delighted to unite them,” the shelter shared on Facebook.
Cheese’s eyes gleamed with joy as he realized he was heading home. He beamed with happiness while sitting in the back seat of his dad’s car.
After a few days of traveling, Cheese finally arrived at his forever home in Virginia. His heart was overflowing with joy. He had finally realized his dream of having a loving family and a warm home.
