Virginia Construction Workers Swiftly Respond After Discovering Abandoned Kittens in a Dumpster

Date:

Witnessing an abandoned or dumped dog is one of the most heartbreaking experiences imaginable. Sadly, not everyone shares the same compassion, as there are those who would cruelly abandon innocent lives. Among the most appalling acts are those that involve newborn puppies, leaving us devastated each time we come across such stories.

Poor Little Ones

When a construction worker arrived at his job in Appomattox, Virginia, he never anticipated the profound experience that awaited him. After a tiring day on the job, he heard faint cries emanating from a distance. His heart sank when he discovered that the heartbreaking sounds were coming from a nearby dumpster.

“He looked inside to find a dog food bag with four newborn brown and white puppies,” Appomattox Animal Shelter told The Dodo. “They were cold to the touch.”

Without hesitation, the man called animal control. Officers swiftly arrived, collected the puppies, and transported them to the safety of Appomattox Animal Shelter.

Safe And Sound

Upon arrival at the shelter, the puppies were given a warm bed and careful attention. They were so young that their eyes and ears were still closed, and they even had their umbilical cords attached. Remarkably, they were evaluated to be only 24 hours old, making it a true miracle that they were found in time.

“Considering how young these puppies were and taken away from Mom so soon, they were in very good condition,” the shelter staff noted. “They took right to bottle feeding and were able to be warmed up fairly quickly.”

The caring individuals at the shelter decided to name the puppies Walter White, Gus Fring, Saul Goodman, and Jane Margolis, after characters from the acclaimed series “Breaking Bad.” Shortly thereafter, the puppies were transferred to the care of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, where compassionate foster families awaited them.

These little ones are now in the hands of dedicated individuals who will ensure they are well cared for until they find their forever homes. A bright future undoubtedly awaits them with such loving guardians.
