On a scorching and sticky day, a compassionate bystander stumbled upon a heart-wrenching scene. While passing by a local bus station, he saw something troubling near the nearby garbage dump.
Approaching the overstuffed dumpsters, he spotted two tiny puppies situated on a mound of rubbish.
At first glance, they seemed to be napping, but he quickly realized they were in dire condition, barely clinging to life.
The benevolent individual promptly reached out to a local animal rescue organization for assistance.
Rescuing The Furry Babies
The two pups were just around a month old, and there was no sign of their mother nearby. It seemed they had been abandoned by someone without a shred of compassion.
Upon receiving the urgent call about the puppies, the dedicated rescuers, Lina Patino and Jennifer Ponsford, rushed to the bus stop.
Swiftly, they gathered the puppies and headed straight to the rescue center.
The puppies were in a precarious state – infested with ticks, plagued by parasites, undernourished, and fighting for their lives.
“They were malnourished … we provided them with food, water, antiparasitic medications, and applied tick treatments. During the first 24 hours, they seemed so depressed and sluggish that I feared they wouldn’t make it,” Patino recounted to The Dodo.
The two puppies were affectionately named Enrique and Beto, as everyone hoped for their recovery.
The crucial initial days were challenging, but to everyone’s delight, by day three, the pups began to show signs of recovery.
“By the third day, they had more energy than ever. We provided them with medicated baths for their skin ailments, and they’ve been thriving ever since,” Patino remarked.
Happy And Alive
As the weeks rolled on, the puppies were flourishing more than ever.
With strict adherence to their medical regimen and an abundance of love and attention, they received precisely what they needed to flourish.
Now at two months old, they are free from parasites and ticks. This allows them to finally soak up the nutrients necessary for healthy growth.
Although Enrique and Beto still have some growing to do before they are ready for adoption, I have every confidence that they will soon be ready to find their forever families.

They can often be found cuddling with one another, playing with their toys, or basking in the affection showered upon them by their rescuers.
Soon, they will be due for their vaccinations, bringing them one step closer to finding their forever homes through adoption.
If it weren’t for that kind-hearted individual who discovered them that fateful day, these puppies might not have survived. He will eternally be their guardian angel.
