Emma, a 14-year-old Poodle, was left at a shelter inside a crate, accompanied by a fuzzy blanket and a few toys.
She weighed just four pounds.
Upon seeing a picture of the tiny Emma, Adrian Lott and Spencer Erickson from Seattle, Washington, felt compelled to adopt her.
Two weeks later, Emma was finally welcomed into her forever home.
Emma’s Adoption Story

When Emma stepped into her new Seattle home, she was understandably wary. Faced with fear and needing significant medical attention,
“We suspect she had endured significant neglect before arriving at the shelter. Her spine was noticeably curved, and she struggled to stand steadily on her back legs,” Lott shared with Newsweek.
Emma could barely stand or walk at the time and was in horrendous health, requiring immediate dental care.
Yet her new parents were smitten and committed to doing whatever it took to help her remain with them for as long as possible.
“She formed a bond with me very quickly. As she recovered and adjusted to our home, she began following me from room to room and loved to snuggle on my lap,” Lott recounted.
For the initial few days at her new home, Emma trembled visibly, likely due to the fear and trauma from her past.
However, once she understood that she was safe and that her new family genuinely cared, she ceased shaking.
