This is why many dog owners find it challenging to call their pets back inside, even with treats in hand. Yet, there are rare, amusing exceptions to this norm.
This was the case for Liv Moorhouse, who left her Cockapoo outside, assuming he would not want to come back indoors anytime soon.
However, she was in for a surprise when she glanced through the window next to her front door.
An Amusing Scene
A TikTok video shared by @livmoorhouse shows her Cockapoo standing on his hind legs, peering through the window at the camera.
While this might not seem unusual at first, the dog’s next action was anything but typical. Instead of barking loudly, he lifted his paw and began “knocking” on the door like a polite human.
Liv was taken aback by the amusing spectacle and felt compelled to capture it on video. Beyond the humor, she was genuinely impressed by her dog’s actions.
“He’s so clever he’s even tapping on the door to come in,” Liv captioned the video.
According to Newsweek, when his mother didn’t open the door, this clever dog recognized that knocking alone wouldn’t suffice. After a moment of confusion, he pivoted and opted for a direct approach – the intense stare.
Standing on his back legs, he had a perfect view into the kitchen where his mom was chuckling. He took offense, clearly puzzled as to why she wasn’t letting him in. How embarrassing!
Though she eventually opened the door for him, Liv knew she owed him a hefty supply of treats as recompense. But, given the delight this episode brought, it was a small price for such a hilarious moment and a video that spread joy to many.
