While many shelters strive to provide the best environment for their animals, sometimes it’s simply not sufficient.
Every animal ultimately needs a human companion of their own to experience true happiness.
When an animal spends an extended period in a shelter, it can start to lose hope and may even feel unhappy or depressed.
Fortunately, foster homes exist to prevent this from happening.
Arriving at the Shelter
Before a pup named Ronnie came to Dallas Animal Services (DAS), one of the largest municipal shelters nationwide, he was a lost stray with nowhere to turn.
However, as soon as he stepped into the Dallas shelter, this lovable pup seemed overjoyed. He was excitedly wandering around the shelter, meeting everyone and demonstrating how wonderful he was.
“He was a joyful, friendly, wiggly boy who was thrilled to see his human pals,” remarked Marlo Clingman, the public information coordinator at Dallas Animal Services, to The Dodo.
Since DAS consistently strives to place their animals into loving foster or forever homes as quickly as possible, Ronni’s situation was no different.
After being an incredibly patient pup, a family contacted the Dallas shelter expressing their desire to foster Ronni.
At the Fosters
When Ronni’s foster mom arrived to take him home, the excited pup could barely contain his joy.
“He was thrilled to meet his foster mom, Ashley. His enthusiasm was evident from the moment he jumped into their car,” he mentioned.
Ashley was fortunate enough to capture a photo of Ronni during their car ride, and that’s when she realized how significant this moment was for him.
“His smile was so big he could hardly keep his eyes open,” he said.
Ronni was simply astounded by the fact that he was finally about to be a beloved family pet.
Upon entering his new home, this joyful pup understood immediately that it would be filled with love, fun, and cuddles.
His best behavior was on full display, and he frequently expresses his gratitude by showering his foster family with kisses whenever he can.
Witnessing the immense affection that this pup possesses, his foster family hopes he will find a loving adopter who will not only appreciate him as he deserves but will also return that love tenfold.
“Ronnie enjoys playing and would cherish having a larger dog friend to frolic with or at least a companion for playdates. He is equally fond of men and women — he adores his foster parents for rescuing him from the shelter. He has met a toddler and was wonderful with him — he even gave the little one a big, sloppy doggie kiss!” explained Marlo.
Final Thoughts
I am confident that this joyful pup will quickly find a loving forever home, spending the rest of his days with a human who truly values him and treats him right.
Good luck, Ronni!
