Here’s a plot twist you might not have expected in a four-legged universe: a dog, a chicken, and a missing egg! Quite the combination, right?
For Bailey, however, it’s just another typical day at work!
Unlike the usual Bloodhounds that engage in scent tracking, this darling from North Carolina dedicates her time to ensuring her feathered friends are safe and sound. It’s a responsible role, don’t you think?
I’m A Lifesaver, Not A Trouble Maker, Mom

In every one of her “evacuation operations,” Bailey emerges as the hero. Sure, her mother sometimes views her as a little rascal, but even she can’t deny Bailey’s cleverness.
“It’s as if she knows there’s a chick hiding in there,” her mother shared with Cuddle Buddies.
Destiny started her journey with a straightforward vision of farm life. She’s running a nonprofit rescue farm on Ridge Rd, Tobaccoville, North Carolina, all while mastering homesteading skills.
Little did she imagine that her adventures would lead to countless people laughing and enjoying Bailey’s adorably quirky obsession!
Now, let’s get to the crucial questions!
What does Bailey do with all those eggs once she takes them? And where does she keep them hidden?
She’s truly a camouflage expert! Whenever her mother attempts to interrogate her about the eggs, she cleverly conceals them beneath her droopy lips.
Furthermore, she often buries them!

Yet through all this, there’s one thing Bailey never does: she never breaks an egg!
“People often question me about how she manages to keep the eggs intact. My guess is that she loves them so much that she goes to great lengths to protect them,” Destiny mentions in an Instagram post.

It’s worth noting that eggs, chickens, and (mostly) ducks aren’t Bailey’s only responsibilities!
Her watchful gaze extends to goats, donkeys, pigs, cats, and rabbits! With coyotes and foxes lurking, there’s plenty for her to do. But she never falters – Bailey is not just an egg protector; she is a remarkable guardian of the farm.
A Bloodhound Or A Chickenhound?

Many people are curious about how a purebred Bloodhound like Bailey manages not to chase after all the small farm animals!
Typically, there’s one clear reason: Bailey is a gentle giant!
“People frequently inquire: ‘How do you keep a Bloodhound from going after your farm animals?’ That’s the beauty of her nature. She allows all the chickens to hop all over her without a fuss,” Destiny explains.
With her heart brimming with affection for chickens and her other animal companions, she seems better suited as a Chickenhound – if the Bloodhound Council ever decides to expel her from their club!

Bailey epitomizes the ideal companion. Despite all her quirks (and her love for eggs), she brings only happiness to her family.
“Her purpose is to spread joy and love to everyone she meets, which is why I love sharing her with the world. She’s simply extraordinary,” her mother acknowledges.

It’s not always easy being in her position, regardless of how it appears. While surrounded by tempting distractions, Bailey consistently maintains her dignity while showering everyone around her with affection.
While her egg-guarding role may be on hold, her mother is still very much in favor of turning the farm into an occasional egg-hunt playground.
She also joins in the fun, providing Bailey with a delightful experience and a remarkable adventure. Bailey’s other nickname? Adventure-seeker!
Egg-spectantly fun, isn’t it?
