Sarah Foster, a resident of Houston, Texas, has always had a passion for dogs. Her love deepened when she began pet-sitting a puppy and ultimately decided to welcome one into her own home.
She inquired about the puppy’s lineage and promptly reached out to the breeder. Initially, the breeder planned to keep a Cane Corso named Blaze for breeding purposes. However, Sarah’s affection for Blaze was so strong that the breeder had to let her go.
Sarah adopted her first dog when Blaze was merely 12 weeks old, and soon after, she opened her home to another Cane Corso named Sage.
This second pup was quite ill and struggled to gain weight, prompting the breeder to request updates on Sage’s condition. After the dog made a full recovery, Sarah made it a point to send pictures of her two dogs to the breeder every few months. One of his responses, however, shattered her heart.
A Photo That Moved Her to Tears
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Sarah wanted to express her appreciation to the breeder who had such a profound impact on her life. She decided to send him updated photos every six months.
The breeder was genuinely interested in the well-being of his furry companions, especially given Sage’s rough start.
Whenever Sarah sent a photo, the breeder’s responses were typically positive, cheering for their remarkable progress.
However, one day, he responded with an unexpected twist, sending Sarah a picture of one of the dogs, and it brought her to tears.
In a TikTok video shared on October 18, 2024, via @trisarahhhtops, Sarah conveyed that he responded with a picture of Blaze’s mother, making the observation that she looks exactly like her daughter. Comparing the two photos brought tears to her eyes.
“I send her breeder an updated picture each year. His response yesterday wrecked me… It never occurred to me that dogs can look like their family as well,” Sarah expressed in the clip.
While it was something Sarah had not contemplated deeply, at that moment, she realized these dogs also had mothers from whom they were once separated. This revelation struck her profoundly.

Sarah’s boyfriend, who shares her Houston home, was similarly moved by the situation. Their TikTok post captured a lot of attention, leading to many emotional responses.
