When a lonely stray dog appeared at a Hyatt hotel parking lot in Texas, the hotel staff and guests were taken aback. Sensing kindness around him, the pup started visiting the parking lot nightly, where he was well-received.
Delighted by his presence, everyone at the hotel fed and showered him with affection. Although they knew little about him, they recognized his need for companionship and love.
Capturing The Dog

Hotel guests ensured that their furry friend dined on delicious meals. “They were returning from their restaurants with — I’m not lying — gourmet dishes like steak, a whole pork chop, and fajitas,” Jodi Leslie, director of community outreach at Three Little Pitties Rescue, revealed to The Dodo. Grateful for their kindness, the pup felt loved and cared for.
One day, a hotel guest saw the dog wandering and realized he was a stray. The Good Samaritan took to Facebook, urging others to assist him. Thankfully, Three Little Pitties Rescue noticed the post. Upon learning the pup had lived in the parking lot for two months, the rescue team was determined to help him.
The rescuers managed to trap him, but the transition to a foster home was overwhelming for the stray pup, who felt a strong pull back to his previous life on the streets. The very next day, he managed to escape without a trace, leaving his foster mom searching in vain for three days before he was found.
The Pup’s New Beginning
Just as the team was losing hope, the pup reappeared at the hotel parking lot, which was eight miles from his foster home. Everyone was amazed at how he managed to travel that distance in just three days. The rescuers sought the help of professional trappers, who successfully captured him once again.
Leslie decided to foster the pup and named him Hyatt, in honor of the hotel where he was rescued.
Hyatt’s friends at the hotel were saddened by his departure but recognized that he deserved a new beginning in a loving home. Adjusting to his foster home proved to be a challenge for Hyatt; he experienced anxiety and nervousness at first. Leslie believed he had never been in a nurturing environment before.
She patiently allowed him to acclimate, showering him with love as he met her own dogs, who began teaching him how to live as a cherished pet. Gradually, Hyatt started to become more comfortable.
Though still timid, Hyatt is gradually coming out of his shell, enjoying cuddles in Leslie’s bed. This sweet pup is ready to embrace his new life, hoping to find a forever family filled with patience, love, and playful doggy siblings.
