While browsing his social media, a rescuer stumbled upon a post from a truck driver about a small puppy found in a location unsuitable for such a young dog.
After driving for an hour, the rescuer reached the site and started his search for the little pup. Unfortunately, he was unable to find him.
As he continued looking, the rescuer encountered a frightening car accident. Thankfully, he emerged unscathed. Despite this alarming incident, his determination to locate the puppy remained unwavering.
No Pup Left Behind
After receiving a replacement car from his insurance, the rescuer resumed his search the following day.
Fortunately, luck was on his side and he quickly located the puppy. The joy he felt was palpable; however, the puppy was not as enthusiastic.
The puppy appeared very timid and withdrawn, keeping his head down and avoiding eye contact. It was evident he held reservations towards his rescuer, suggesting he might have faced negative experiences with humans before.
Nonetheless, the rescuer was determined not to give up.
Attempting to gain his trust through food, he offered the puppy some delicious treats and fresh water. Unfortunately, this approach did not yield success, as the puppy declined to eat.
Concerned that the puppy’s reluctance to eat might be due to health issues, the rescuer gently placed him in his car and hurried to the veterinarian.
Slow And Steady Wins The Race
Despite several nearby clinics, none were open at that time.
To avoid further distress to the puppy, the rescuer made a brief stop to spend some quality time with him.
Fortunately, this downtime allowed the puppy to let down his defenses and begin to play.
Once their playtime concluded, they got back in the car and continued their quest. Eventually, they located an open clinic.
A medical examination revealed that the puppy was suffering from food poisoning, validating the rescuer’s concerns.
The rescuer procured the necessary medications for this sweet boy and decided to foster him until he regained his health.
Once they returned home, the rescuer let the puppy acclimate to his new environment before giving him a much-needed bath and a little spa treatment.
With time, this sweet puppy is bound to make a quick recovery and will be able to enjoy a beautiful, happy life!
