All canines deserve owners who cherish them and provide a safe, caring environment. Unfortunately, some cruel individuals abandon these faithful companions without a second thought for their well-being. Today, we will share the story of Gibbs, an adorable 6-week-old puppy who experienced the harsh realities of abandonment. Left in a dark cardboard box outside a shelter one night, Gibbs cried out for help, hoping someone would hear his plea.
Finding A Tiny Surprise

Late at night, a shelter staff member in Orangeburg, South Carolina, realized they had forgotten something and returned to the shelter. Approaching the entrance, they were taken aback to see a cardboard box on a nearby bench labeled ‘small’. Before they could open it, they heard cries for help. Eagerly, they opened the box to find the sweetest, most innocent puppy eyes staring back.

With a mix of sadness and hope in his eyes, Gibbs was promptly brought inside. The staff member felt a pang of regret that such a lovable creature had been dumped, yet they were thankful to have returned just in time.
Moving To A Foster Home

The next day, the shelter shared Gibbs’ story on Facebook. Eunoia Rescue, located in Charleston, South Carolina, was quick to offer him a loving home after seeing his post. Their hearts melted at the sight of such an adorable puppy, unable to fathom how anyone could abandon him. They gave him a thorough bath to cleanse him of fleas and worms, and aside from that, Gibbs was healthy. The staff showered him with affection.
Now in a foster home, Gibbs is thriving, surrounded by love and care.
“He LOVES other dogs and acts like he weighs 50 pounds instead of just a measly 4 pounds and will chase all his foster siblings around. He’s happy, healthy and just waiting to be big enough to be neutered before he’s adopted,” Eunoia Rescue said.
I’m truly grateful that compassionate individuals saved Gibbs’ life, providing him with the love and care he desperately needed. There’s no doubt this lovely pup will soon find the perfect family and forever home he deserves.
