Not too long ago, I was strolling down a street when I came across a stray puppy living in a parking lot. Initially, I felt a wave of sympathy for him.
But as I took a closer look at his environment, I discovered that he had a tiny shelter and plenty of food. There were compassionate individuals nearby who cared for him each day.
It’s my hope that this kind of care is extended to all homeless dogs. If only more people would step up to provide food and shelter for animals in need.
This particular puppy had a different story, however, having been abandoned on the street by her prior owner. For a long time, no one looked after her until a special someone arrived.
Just In Time
When rescuers arrived to assist her, they were shocked by her condition. She appeared severely malnourished and frail.
Nevertheless, they saw that she was joyful to meet her new helpers, even wagging her tail—a promising sign.
Shortly after locating her, they opted to bring her back to the shelter, ensuring her safety while preparing for a visit to the veterinarian.
They provided her with soft food to help restore her strength until the following morning, and she devoured it quickly.
It was heartbreaking to consider how long she must have experienced hunger, but there was no time to dwell on that.
She Will Make It
The next morning, they took the puppy, now named Bualoy, to the veterinarian clinic for a comprehensive health assessment.
She weighed just 1.2 kg and was severely dehydrated. Tests indicated that she suffered from serious anemia, low blood pressure, and elevated white blood cell levels.
As part of her treatment, she received a blood transfusion, and afterward, she showed slight improvement. Unfortunately, she was still infested with fleas, so they administered medication for that, too.
By the next day, Bualoy was showing significant improvement in her appetite and her health was gradually getting better. They decided to give her a soothing warm bath to clean her up.
She looked incredibly cute, and her rescuers were thrilled to see her condition improve. The veterinarian team performed another blood transfusion to further enhance her recovery.
The vets also provided her guardian with medication that Bualoy needed to take daily, hoping this treatment would resolve her health issues.
It was evident that she was getting better day by day as she even began to bark a little—a truly delightful sight.
A New Journey
Bualoy’s appetite has greatly improved, and she is eating much better now. Her caretaker allows her to play with other dogs in the house, and they have all grown fond of her.
Additionally, her rescuer purchased her a toy, which she enjoys playing with constantly. Some lovely clothes were also added to her wardrobe, making her look absolutely adorable.
What has amazed her rescuer is Bualoy’s friendly and playful nature with other cats, proving she is a truly remarkable puppy.
In just a month, she has made an incredible transformation and continues to improve in health every day. Her rescuers take immense pride in her progress.
Before long, she will be ready for her vaccinations and will be placed on the adoption list, eager to find her forever home. I’m incredibly happy to see that this pup’s story has a joyful ending.
