Upon receiving an urgent call to save a starving puppy, a group of rescuers immediately set out to the scene.
On their journey, they discovered that the pup’s dire circumstances arose from the passing of her owner, leaving her without care.
The moment the rescuers laid eyes on the pup, tears flowed freely. Witnessing such suffering can soften even the hardest hearts. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, they quickly composed themselves and sprang into action!
A Much-Needed Rescue
The rescuers thought it best to spend some quality time with the dog first to help her feel more comfortable.
“This dog is in such a fragile state that her ribs are visible, and we can see every bone in her body,” the rescuers noted in a video.
After providing her with some food, the rescuers hurried her to the vet for a comprehensive medical evaluation.
The examination revealed she weighed only eight pounds and was suffering from liver, kidney, and pancreas issues, along with anemia.
The vets named her Scarlet and set her up on the necessary treatments to help her regain her health and happiness.
One Day At A Time
Each member of the clinic staff ensured that she had everything she needed. In addition to her medications and check-ups, they dedicated time to be with her so she wouldn’t feel isolated.
This nurturing environment significantly improved her spirits.
Just six days at the vet, and Scarlet was able to devour an entire plate of solid food. The joy felt by the humans was immense because this signified her health was on the mend.
However, they understood that her journey to full recovery was far from over.
She needed to gain healthy weight and manage her ailments, and she also had to rebuild her trust in humans while searching for her forever home.
Scarlet remained determined. With time, she grew stronger and was able to stand on her own.
Witnessing her resilience, the humans felt even more driven to assist this adorable pup.
“Scarlett receives diligent care daily, with the attention and encouragement needed to regain her strength. Her routine includes regular rehabilitation exercises and nourishing meals to support her recovery and growth,” they commented.
With time, I am confident that sweet Scarlet will reclaim her health and transform back into the joyful and loving pup she once was.
