Resilient Dog Rescued from Georgia Highway After Severe Injuries Discovers Love Once More

Date:

Helpless and terrified… That’s how Pluto, the hero of this story, felt after he was hit by a car and left to perish on a highway. The doggo was severely injured and barely clinging to life, waiting and hoping that someone would spot him and offer help, promising that everything would be alright.

Thankfully, a Good Samaritan found the injured pup, and he was rushed to a shelter where the medical team began fighting for his life. A Georgia shelter took Pluto in and stayed by his side as he battled the most important fight of his life. An X-ray revealed a broken jaw, a shattered pelvis, and a damaged tail. Despite the severe injuries, Pluto never thought about giving up, spending six months at the shelter and undergoing multiple surgeries, ultimately pulling through.

Nobody knew whether Pluto would walk again, but his caregivers ensured he never felt hopeless. They showered him with love, instilling hope in his heart. The determined pup made daily efforts to stand on his paws, and his shelter friends rejoiced when he started walking again.

“Finally he did start walking again slowly. That was a huge moment of happiness and joy for us,” Emi, a shelter staff member, told Cuddle Buddies. Once he was ready to find a forever home, Waldo’s Rescue Pen, located in New York, took him in.

Sweet Life In A Foster Home

Placed in a loving foster home, Pluto was initially guarded towards his foster mom, Clare, who patiently allowed him space to adjust. It didn’t take long for Pluto to realize he could trust her, and soon he began letting his guard down and cuddling. Feeling safe, his goofy personality started to shine as his bond with his foster family deepened, showcasing his gratitude and affection.

“Whatever I’m doing, he’s looking at me with so much affection. It’s the sweetest thing ever,” Clare told Cuddle Buddies.

Hoping To Find The Love Of His Life

Everyone at Waldo’s Rescue Pen is enamored with Pluto and believes he would make the ideal furry companion. He adores adventures and loves exploring the outdoors. Despite his past pain, his heart is filled with love for humans, and there’s nothing he enjoys more than cuddling with his favorite people.

“When it’s cuddle time, Pluto is your go-to guy. He’s incredibly sweet and loves nothing more than snuggling up with you on the couch or curling up in bed for a cozy night’s sleep,” Waldo’s Rescue Pen shared on Facebook.

The sweet pup is now on the lookout for a forever family ready to open their hearts and adore him fully. Pluto, you truly are a hero and fighter with a heart of gold, and we hope you’ll soon find your rightful place under the sun.
