A group of rescuers was horrified to learn about a puppy who had suffered severe abuse at the hands of its owners before being abandoned on the street.
Unable to imagine this puppy enduring cold nights alone, the team rushed to the scene, determined to find the dog and bring it to safety.
Fortunately, upon their arrival, they located the pup. Yet, the sight of her condition left them utterly devastated.
Heartbreaking Scene
The little pup, later named Stesha, was entirely bald and was found sheltering in a box next to a convenience store.
With the snowfall making conditions worse, the poor creature shivered uncontrollably, unable to warm herself due to her lack of fur.
The rescue team swiftly scooped her up and did their best to warm her up.
Once in their vehicle heading to the vet, Stesha, overwhelmed and exhausted, promptly fell asleep on one of the rescuer’s laps.
At the vet, they suspected she could be suffering from frostbite, demodicosis, or even pneumonia, but the prognosis was much more dire.
With persistent high fever and seizures, the vet ultimately diagnosed Stesha with the plague just a few days after her arrival.
One Determined Pup
The team was heartbroken upon learning of Stesha’s diagnosis, fearing that her condition would prove fatal.
However, Stesha was determined to defy the odds.
Having endured so much hardship, Stesha found it difficult to walk, yet she refused to give up.
With every chance she gets, Stesha attempts to rise on her legs and move around. Even though her body trembles and her legs remain bent, this courageous pup crawls to reach her destination.
Witnessing her unwavering spirit and hope, the rescuers realized it was time to take action as well.
Stesha began attending the rehabilitation center, where she worked hard to regain her ability to walk!
Five months post-rescue, this tenacious pup could walk on her own.
The joy on her rescuers’ faces was immense as they watched their little girl walk towards them, ready for affectionate pets and cuddles.
This remarkable dog will require additional time at the rehabilitation center before she can find a loving family that will give her the care she has always deserved.
