It is always heartbreaking to witness a stray dog wandering the streets, uncertain about when the next meal may come.
Yet, what’s perhaps even more heartrending is when a mother dog is left to fend for her puppies, doing her utmost to care for them, but struggling to provide enough.
While they are resilient and can endure a lot, life can unfortunately be very harsh, leading to their hardships.
In this case, a family of dogs was abandoned by their owner in a rundown car, where they lingered and starved for weeks, too afraid to venture outside.
They Were Extremely Starved
During a flood, a heartless owner left a mother dog named Ala, along with her two puppies, in a dilapidated car where they were unable to move.
It was utterly horrific to see them trapped in such a situation without food or any means to survive. They probably hadn’t eaten for a whole week.
This situation is incredibly tragic, and it’s unthinkable that someone could abandon such a sweet family of dogs.
When the rescuers became aware of their plight, they hurried to save them as time was running out.
The unfortunate mother had to resort to drinking the filthy floodwater to stay alive while caring for her puppies. A compassionate woman who saw their dire situation also provided them with some food.
Once they were taken out of the car and placed on a small boat, the rescuers quickly realized the extent of the family’s malnutrition. It was a devastating sight.
Upon further investigation of the area, they managed to find a cat and another dog, all likely abandoned or stray.
All of them were now en route to a safe haven. The first stop was a veterinarian clinic for vital medical attention.
An Incredible Transformation
After an extensive checkup, the veterinarians confirmed that the family was severely malnourished but otherwise in good health.
One of the rescuers took it upon herself to name Ala’s puppies, deciding on the names Tak and Nak. They were all going to be alright.
Among all the animals rescued that day, Ala was undoubtedly in the direst condition. She would need a special diet to facilitate her recovery.
She also received a blood transfusion and vaccinations. The second dog they discovered, named Liao, was grappling with his own struggles and received the same treatment.
Though he had a serious eye infection, it was not critical, and he was expected to recover with further care.
Tragically, despite the initially positive prognosis, devastation struck this precious dog family. One of the puppies, Tak, passed away unexpectedly, leaving everyone heartbroken.
Nonetheless, everyone remained committed to ensuring the rest of them would recover and eventually find a loving home.
As days passed, their health significantly improved, and Ala’s weight increased noticeably. Both she and Liao are now much healthier.
Eventually, the puppy Nak was adopted and has found happiness with his new family. They are thrilled to have him in their lives.
As for the other two dogs, their future remains uncertain, but I have faith that the rescuers will devote their efforts to find them a loving home.
