Violet just wanted her owners to love and care for her, but sadly, she suffered years of neglect and abuse. The Goldendoodle was so matted that she hardly resembled a dog. One day, her owner brought her to an emergency hospital, claiming they didn’t know why Violet was so weak she couldn’t walk. When rescuers from Sky Sanctuary Rescue in Phoenix, Arizona, learned about Violet’s situation, they were shocked and heartbroken, realizing her life was hanging by a thread.
Fighting For Violet’s Life

Once Violet’s owners surrendered her, Caitlin Mary Harrell, the rescue’s director, and her team took action to save her life. They noticed Violet had trouble opening her jaw and even had to lift her head to feed her, as she was too exhausted.
A groomer shaved off the matted fur, allowing the vet team to assess her condition, and everyone was devastated to discover how malnourished Violet was. Sky Sanctuary Rescue reported on Instagram, “[S]he is so depleted — as a full-sized Goldendoodle, she weighs just 12 pounds.” The neglected dog required intensive medical care, which included a blood transfusion and nutrients through a feeding tube.
The Pup Starts Feeling Better

The vet team conducted numerous tests but found no underlying medical issues; it was evident that Violet had been abused and deprived of food. Sensing she was finally safe, Violet looked at her human helpers with soulful eyes, expressing her gratitude. They monitored her closely, hoping for her recovery.

Thankfully, treatment began to take effect, and Violet started to improve, though her rescuers remained uncertain about her full recovery.
Violet Proves To Be A Resilient Dog

Fortunately, Violet’s bloodwork improved, and she was discharged from the hospital. Harrell took her home to foster, where Violet finally felt cherished for the first time, receiving love and care. Within days, she regained her strength and took her first steps. Just eleven days after her rescue, she enjoyed a walk outside, showcasing her resilience and strength.

As time went on, Violet regained her strength and her true personality began to shine. She experienced joy when she received her very first toy, and in just a few weeks, she gained seven pounds. The staff at the Arizona rescue are incredibly proud of their resilient girl, following her journey on social media and inspiring thousands with her unbreakable spirit. Surrounded by love and support, Violet continues to thrive and heal, and the rescuers are grateful for the chance to give her a second life.
