As the Chief Life-Saving Officer, Donna has guided numerous canines toward their forever homes across the nation, and now it was time for another rescue mission!

Here Comes The Furriest Surprise
Lochmann and the SRSL team had been working hard to rescue Hulu, a female stray dog who had been roaming the streets for an extended period.
This shy girl was nothing but skin and bones and urgently required assistance. However, the challenge was that she was nearly impossible to catch!
Hulu was a nursing mother, caring for her newborn puppies hidden somewhere in the vicinity. She skillfully concealed them from peril and harsh conditions, but Donna and her team found it incredibly difficult to locate them. That was until one fateful day!
They set up a humane trap filled with tasty treats to catch Hulu. After several hours of waiting, this brave mom finally entered and was rescued.
Shortly after, Donna and her fellow rescuer heard crying coming from an abandoned house nearby. Upon inspection of the crawl space, they were amazed to find…
a large litter of puppies snuggled up together in a cozy pile. They were just a few days old and very tiny but appeared to be in good health.
Donna quickly sprang into action and squeezed into the tight space to save the puppies. As she got closer, she was astonished to find ten tiny pups!
“A mom and 10 puppies have been rescued from the harsh streets. Although she was full of milk, she was but a skeleton. You’ll never believe where we discovered her puppies,” Stray Rescue of St. Louis noted in a Facebook post.
The Happily Ever After
After a thorough search and rescue effort, the puppies were successfully taken to the facility. The SRSL team placed the pups in a cozy room alongside their mom.
Hulu quickly proved to be a wonderful and nurturing mother. She diligently cared for her babies, ensuring they were fed and warm at all times.
The entire team beamed with pride for Hulu and her exceptional parenting skills. Despite lacking proper resources or a roof over her head, she managed to keep her little ones safe.
And now, they will never have to fear the streets again!
Months after her rescue, Hulu and her family began a new chapter in loving homes. This devoted dog mom found a lovely forever home with a woman named Debbie and her family.
For years, she has delighted in a spacious home and endless adventures with her loved ones. Each day, Hulu’s life is brimming with joy and affection, exactly as it should have been all along.
Her new mom shared a heartfelt memory, expressing gratitude to Donna for giving her beloved pup a second chance. “My Hulu was rescued three years ago. She is a really funny, quirky dog. Thank you, Donna Lochmann, for always saying yes to a rescue,” Debbi wrote on Facebook.
Thanks to Donna and her amazing team, Hulu and her puppies received a new lease on life. And their happiness is truly evident!
