Upon receiving a report of an injured dog taking refuge under a car, Briana Flores and her team from iPittytheBull, a non-profit in Chino, California, immediately rushed to the location.
When they arrived, they peered beneath the dilapidated vehicle and spotted a terrified dog with a sorrowful expression.
Despite the rescue team’s attempts to comfort her, the pup remained still and unresponsive, too frightened to trust her rescuers.
Flores gently offered her some food, hoping to entice her out.
As soon as the hungry dog caught a whiff of the food, she inched closer to eat.
Little did the rescuers know that they were about to uncover a devastating secret about the dog.
Rescuing The Doggo
As the frightened dog slowly started to trust her rescuers, she remained reluctant to leave her hiding spot.
The compassionate team continued to feed her, determined to gain her trust.
Thankfully, the dog, later named Stella, started inching closer to them as she gained confidence.
When Flores placed a leash around Stella’s neck, the pup became even more anxious. To ease her fear, the rescuer offered her more food until she calmed down.
After fifteen tense minutes, the team successfully coaxed her out.
Seeing the condition Stella was in broke their hearts. She was emaciated and had visible injuries.
While her round belly raised concerns, the rescuers were unsure if she was pregnant.
They persuaded Stella to follow them and carefully placed her in the front seat of the car. Her eyes reflected deep sadness.
As they examined her closely, they were alarmed to find her body covered in wounds, with the most severe ones located on her head and neck.
Flores and her team hurried Stella to a pet clinic in Anaheim, California.
Fighting For Stella’s Life
Upon her arrival at the clinic, it was believed that Stella was pregnant.
However, an X-ray revealed a shocking truth that left everyone astonished.
Stella’s abdomen was filled with sharp objects.
She had multiple bruises on her lungs and a torn intestine.
Stella needed to stay at the hospital due to her critical condition. The veterinary team worked tirelessly to save her, hoping they had rescued her in time.
The vet informed the rescuers that they suspected Stella had been abused by a cruel owner before she managed to escape.
Both Stella’s rescuers and the vet team felt a wave of relief as Stella began to recover.
After her discharge, Flores and her husband John, founder of iPittytheBull, welcomed her into their home as a foster.
The couple showered Stella with love, helping her realize that kind humans do exist.
A true fighter at heart, Stella’s health steadily improved day by day as she began to trust her foster family.
Miraculous Recovery
Just eight days after her rescue, the wounds on Stella’s body had healed, and any internal sharp objects had passed without causing her harm.
The veterinary staff was astounded by Stella’s miraculous recovery.
“The vets cannot explain how she healed so swiftly; they can only interpret what they see on the X-rays. Our girl is predicted to make a full recovery, bringing her one step closer to her forever home,” the rescue shared in a Facebook post.
Despite the suffering inflicted by her previous owner, Stella demonstrated an incredible capacity for forgiveness. She quickly learned to trust her foster parents and loved to cuddle with them.
Stella relished her walks with her new family.
Once she fully healed, she was fortunate enough to find her forever family who adored her.
Stella has moved on from her troubling past and begun a new chapter in her life. She is overjoyed to have a loving family that every dog deserves.
