They say that love heals, and this has never been truer than in the case of Gloria. When her foster mom, Emily, first spotted her in a North Carolina shelter, she was both dazzled and heartbroken; Gloria’s eyes seemed to pierce through her soul, despite her poor physical condition. Little did this undernourished dog, who resembled a worm, know that Emily and her friend Roni would change her life forever!
Gloria Was Not A Puppy At All

Emily and Roni, who are long-time fosters collaborating with Hope Animal Rescue in North Carolina, didn’t hesitate to bring Glo home. Captivated by her charm, they were determined to help her experience a remarkable transformation after being diagnosed with a severe case of mange. Glo’s skin was crusty, she was nearly bald, and it was evident she had endured a great deal of pain for too long. Having roamed the streets as a stray, she was undoubtedly far from anyone who could help her. Yet, from the moment she arrived at the shelter, Glo never let her past affect her genuine sweetness and kind demeanor.

Though Glo appeared to be only a few weeks old, her actual age puzzled everyone. “I had the impression that she was a nine to ten-week-old puppy. She was so sweet, but I could tell she was in a lot of pain,” Emily recounted to The Dodo.
However, after her first visit to the vet, Emily and Roni received a shocking revelation: Glo wasn’t a puppy at all; she was a fully-grown adult dog. Her innocent face and tiny stature made her look like a little pup, but she was actually quite sizable. Wow, who would have guessed?!
For the next six weeks, Emily and Roni worked tirelessly to help Glo regain her health, giving her multiple baths a week, providing regular care, and teaching her how to thrive in a new environment. By week six, she had astonished everyone with her remarkable transformation!
