It breaks my heart to think that there are cruel individuals capable of harming innocent, defenseless animals.
Our story today highlights Magnolia, a delightful pup who, unfortunately, suffered from mistreatment. After being found tied up near the Magnolia cemetery in Texas, she barked and cried out for help, desperate and afraid, hoping someone would hear her pleas.
Rushing To Set Her Free
Upon hearing Magnolia’s desperate barks, the staff at Beaumont Animal Care rushed outside to investigate. They combed through the area behind the cemetery.
Following the plaintive cries, the staff stumbled upon a heart-wrenching sight: a terrified dog tied to a tree.
“The shelter staff were devastated to find her abandoned and tied to a tree with no shelter or water. Magnolia’s barks had turned raspy from pleading for help throughout the night,” shared Rachel Bush, veterinary technician and kennel supervisor at Beaumont Animal Care, with The Dodo.
Untying Magnolia was not an easy feat—she was understandably scared and growled at her rescuers. They recognized her fear and made sure to communicate their intention to help.
By patiently speaking to her in soft tones, they helped Magnolia feel secure enough to allow them to set her free.
Shelter Staff Showers Magnolia With Lots Of Love
The staff took their time to work with Magnolia, showering her with affection and providing her with the care she sorely needed. Almost immediately, she began to trust them.
With her newfound sense of safety, Magnolia’s true spirit shone through. She became sociable and won the hearts of many at the Beaumont shelter, greeting everyone who walked past her kennel with enthusiasm.
Magnolia also formed a beautiful friendship with her kennel mate, and the two dogs enjoy spending time together and playing outside in the yard.
As she awaits her forever home, Magnolia is making the most of her time at the shelter.
We have no doubt that this sweet girl will soon captivate the hearts of her future pawrents, who will cherish her and envelop her in love. Magnolia truly deserves all the happiness in the world.
