It’s difficult to comprehend how one can look into the innocent eyes of a puppy and then simply abandon them.
Every dog deserves an abundance of love, yet many are left behind, frightened, and alone, questioning whether help will arrive.
Jila was one such vulnerable pup who was left by the roadside. Battling mange and trembling in the cold, she curled up in her little shelter. In those desperate moments, her only hope was for someone to bring her to a safe and warm place.
A Little Fur Baby In Need Of Help
During her routine checks in Fort Worth, Texas, Judy Obregon, the founder of TAO Animal Rescue, stumbled upon a doghouse.
She hurried over to see if anyone was inside, and to her shock, the doghouse began to move.
Her heart sank as a small puppy’s head emerged from the shelter, showcasing the sweetest and most soulful eyes.
It was a cold, rainy day, and the puppy was visibly trembling.
Obregon noticed the pup was suffering from severe mange. She comforted the little one, assuring her that she would be okay, and wrapped her in a blanket before taking her to her car.
The puppy gazed through the car window with eyes that radiated a sense of calmness.
“At that moment, I believe she realized that she was safe with someone who would care for her,” Obregon reflected in an interview with The Dodo.
She felt immense relief upon rescuing the abandoned puppy, believing she couldn’t have survived another night in the frigid weather.
Jila Receives A Lot Of Love
Jila was taken to the vet, where she was diagnosed with mange and skin infections, leading to a prescription for antibiotics and medicated baths.
Obregon decided to take her home as an emergency foster, naming her Jila after her soulful gaze.
She provided Jila with nourishment and tender care, and soon the puppy began to recover, spending much of her time sleeping.
Her foster mother was charmed by Jila; despite her neglect, she was incredibly sweet. The little pup adored being held and bathed in affection.
Obregon believed Jila was an outdoor dog who had never received the love she so desperately needed.
Eventually, Jila transitioned to another foster home. Her new foster mom, Paige, lavished her with affection and provided the constant care she craved.
Jila showed her gratitude by licking Paige’s hands and curling up next to her. It was her way of expressing appreciation for the kindness she received.
Later on, Jila moved in with yet another foster mom, Emily, and her recovery continued. The lovable pup relished cuddling with her and basking in Emily’s warmth. Her face glowed with joy.
She also enjoyed playing with Clover, her foster dog sibling.
The adorable pup continued to thrive. After several months, she was fully recovered, and Jila now sought her forever family.
The Pup Finds Her Forever Family
At that moment, a wonderful family in Texas was searching for a dog for their eight-year-old son. Upon seeing Jila, they felt an instant connection and knew their search was finally over.
As soon as Jila spotted her forever mom, she dashed into her arms, showering her with affection. The gentle pup was thrilled to begin a new life, seamlessly blending into her new family.
They embraced her and lavished her with kisses, which she happily returned. Jila felt cherished and couldn’t contain her joy.
“When I look at her, I see pure joy. Sometimes I wonder if she even remembers being discarded by the road. She’s just so undeniably happy, with her little tail wagging constantly,” Jila’s forever mom shared with The Dodo.
We are thrilled for Jila. This lovely pup has finally found the love and care that she always deserved.
