This unfortunate mother was discovered struggling to survive with her puppies in a rundown backyard in Missouri, far from adequate living standards. However, when she finally had the chance to start anew, she seized it, leaving everyone astonished!
She Had The Saddest Face
When Donna Lochmann and the team from Stray Rescue of St. Louis received a call regarding a stray dog and her puppies, they swiftly sprang into action.
Upon arriving at the location, their hearts shattered.
The puppies and their mother were living in deplorable conditions, lacking access to food and water in an abandoned yard. They desperately required assistance.
The mother, later named Donutfest (a tribute to being rescued on National Donut Day), appeared deeply frightened and bore a sorrowful expression.
She was malnourished and traumatized, but Donna had the perfect strategy to reach her. With the aid of tasty treats, she successfully coaxed Donutfest into the vehicle and then gathered her four small pups.
This rescue required skill, but the team managed to transport all the dogs to a veterinary clinic for essential evaluations.
Donutfest had a head injury, and her coat was in poor condition from outdoor life. Fortunately, this little family was devoid of significant health concerns, and they were poised to begin a new chapter!
Who’s The Prettiest Rescue Girl
After several days of tender loving care at SRSL, Donutfest completely shed her fears. To everyone’s astonishment, she blossomed into the most affectionate and joyful lovebug!
“Donutfest embodies sweetness and charm! Her name fits her perfectly. The wound on her head is healing, her scars are disappearing, and she radiates happiness knowing her puppies are secure,” the rescue shared on Facebook.
Despite her past hardships, Donutfest had a gentle spirit. Her smile was infectious, and she got along with everyone she encountered. Grateful for her rescue, she definitely knew how to share affection!
“She resembles a cartoon dog with her enormous smile and expressive eyes! She has been wonderful with every dog she’s encountered and is truly perfect. She even gives hugs,” they remarked.
It didn’t take long for Donutfest and her puppies to capture the hearts of everyone involved in the rescue. However, more importantly, their tale spread widely, leading them into loving homes.
As of today, Donutfest enjoys the best life imaginable, far removed from that forsaken yard and her past. She now embarks on thrilling adventures with her new family and couldn’t be happier!
