Emaciated Dog Found Along A Highway
Upon receiving the call, the rescuers quickly located the dog and were horrified by his condition.
His extreme malnourishment revealed his skeletal structure, and his fur was nearly gone. The poor dog was so frail that he couldn’t even stand, which was heart-wrenching to witness.
He had found temporary shelter beneath a small billboard, which provided him some protection from the harsh weather.
Determined to give him a chance, the rescuers promptly took him in, one of whom cradled him and placed him in a kennel.
She was overwhelmed with emotion upon seeing the dog’s dire state and couldn’t help but shed tears, realizing the struggles he had endured alone.
The rescuers quickly transported him to the nearest veterinary clinic to seek urgent care from the doctors who were equally shocked by his condition.
Without delay, the veterinarians conducted a thorough examination, uncovering the presence of scabies and parasites. He was severely underweight and dehydrated, but fortunately, they had remedies for this.
Now named Lancris, the dog was put on a careful diet designed to help him regain his strength and weight. He was required to have several small meals throughout the day.
This feeding regimen would continue until he reached a healthier weight, at which point he could transition to larger meals.
Lancris Is On The Road To Recovery
Once the veterinarians confirmed his potential for recovery, Lancris was released from the clinic and entered the care of his wonderful rescuer.
She welcomed him into her home and diligently monitored his gradual but positive recovery.
His new guardian also ensured that he received treatment for his skin ailments, allowing his fur to regrow properly.
As the days passed, she dedicated herself to helping him regain his strength so that he could walk again. She even encouraged him to attempt moving independently, although it was still a bit premature.
After a span of 10 days, he was not only able to move around but was also starting to run, taking every chance to do so.
While there are still strides to take in his recovery, he has made remarkable progress, and his rescuer remains committed to supporting him throughout the journey.
Though the future remains uncertain, I am confident that Lancris embraces his new life, seizing every opportunity to run and discover his surroundings.
