Rescuer Shocked to Discover a Nose Peeking Out of a Box Outside California Shelter, Immediately Jumps to Assist

Date:

One day, Suzette Hall set out for one of her many rescue missions, unaware of the surprise that awaited her. As she arrived at a California shelter to capture a wandering pup, she successfully secured the dog while heading towards the entrance to inform the staff of its safety. Suddenly, she noticed something that caught her attention—two moving cardboard boxes at the shelter door.

Upon closer inspection, she noticed the boxes were taped shut with holes on the sides. As she approached, a nose poked out from one of the boxes, prompting swift action from Hall. Together with the shelter staff, they opened the boxes to find two tiny puppies who looked confused and scared. At that moment, the little ones couldn’t fathom that their family had so easily given them up. Sadly, this is a common occurrence, as many dog owners abandon their pets outside shelters to avoid surrender fees.

Relieved and grateful, Hall was thankful to be in the right place at the right time, especially since the shelter was overcrowded, and she felt these puppies deserved a better chance. Aware that they would have a higher likelihood of finding forever homes at Logan’s Legacy 29, she took them along with her.

“It was honestly a little miracle that I was there, because they had taken them to the wrong shelter. I was able to get them to just surrender them to me,” Hall shared on Facebook.

Realizing They Are Safe And Loved

Hall consoled the puppies—a boy and a girl—assuring them that everything would be okay. Her kind words and cuddles provided much-needed comfort; the puppies, later named Eve and Forrest, began to feel at ease once Hall took them to her car. “They are so incredibly sweet, oh my goodness gracious,” Hall remarked. After a visit to the vet, where they received a clean bill of health, it was important for them to relax.

A few days later, Eve and Forrest were moved to a foster home, where they are showered with love and affection. Thanks to their nurturing environment, the puppies now feel cherished and safe, eagerly awaiting the day they meet their forever families and begin a new chapter in their lives. After everything they’ve been through, they deserve nothing less than unwavering love and security.
