Discussing the challenges faced by dogs with neurological issues isn’t something we often do.

While it may appear that these health concerns are uncommon, the reality is many dogs endure such struggles, which is truly heartbreaking to contemplate.

Simple daily activities can become incredibly difficult, with some dogs relying heavily on their owners for assistance.

They deserve all the support they can receive. In this narrative, we’ll explore the story of a dog discovered by a rescuer, who immediately sensed something was off.

Upon meeting Freddie for the first time, his rescuer, Samantha, was taken aback by his warm demeanor, but also by his unusual mannerisms.

She observed that he walked awkwardly and his head bobbled, leading her to suspect underlying health issues.

Others informed Samantha that this dog had been living on the streets of Texas, scavenging for food and often seeking refuge in the yards of strangers during rainstorms.

This was an incredibly distressing existence, but fortunately, that was coming to an end as Samantha had decided to rescue him.

Initially, Samantha hadn’t planned on bringing him home due to limited space, yet she recognized his urgent need for help.

She considered seeking a foster home for him, but his vulnerability made her realize that waiting was not an option.

Samantha brought him into her car and took him back to her home in Texas. She later arranged for a comprehensive veterinary examination to assess his condition.

The diagnosis revealed that he suffers from Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Essentially, this means he was likely born with a smaller cerebellum, the part of the brain that regulates motor skills.

While there is no treatment for this condition, it is unlikely to worsen, allowing Freddie to continue his usual activities.

As Samantha took the time to connect with this endearing dog, she found him to be friendly, albeit occasionally a bit shy.

Despite his challenges, he enjoyed playing and being active. His condition never held him back on his adventures.

Freddie quickly became friends with the other dogs in the house, showing that he had a knack for socializing.

His positivity inspired everyone around him, and he brought joy to those who met him. He is truly delightful.

Samantha made sure he had plenty of time on the couch, helping him get up whenever he needed it, as he struggled to manage that on his own.

One of their favorite activities is simply lounging and enjoying each other’s company. Freddie is fortunate to be cared for by such a wonderful person.

However, his journey isn’t quite finished yet, as Samantha still must locate a permanent home for him, which is sure to prove challenging.

Once Freddie completes his treatment, he will be transitioned to Lola’s Lucky Day to seek out his new family.

While the future remains uncertain, it’s safe to say this sweet dog has likely found a loving home by now and is thriving with amazing people.
