This dapper Pittie captures hearts instantly due to his strikingly unique appearance. Simon, indeed, is notable for his exceptional facial markings – those fabulous eyebrows that leave everyone awestruck!
Introducing Simon, The Star Attraction
When Stephanie Williams first encountered Simon, she could have never envisioned the irreplaceable bond they would share. With his adorably distinctive eyebrows, Simon is undoubtedly the main attraction!
“His personality perfectly complements his eyebrows. He’s brimming with charisma and love,” his owner revealed to Cuddle Buddies.
Simon made his way to his forever home in Minnesota in 2012 as a foster after being returned to the shelter by his previous family. However, before he had the chance to find a loving home, Simon had to overcome a challenging journey.
Together with his siblings, Simon was rescued by a Minnesota organization just minutes away from being euthanized by animal control. It was then that Stephanie came into the picture.
In the initial weeks, Simon was unfamiliar with basic canine behavior. He was quite the handful and appeared to require guidance in learning acceptable manners.
Enter Lily, Stephanie’s other dog, who quickly took charge!
Lily shifted into her “big sister” role and guided Simon. Before long, he grasped the basics of house etiquette and began mirroring her behavior.
“The bond between Lily and Simon resembled that of a big sister and little brother. She was there to look out for him and keep him safe,” Stephanie shared.
Even though Simon had a natural flair for mischief and boundless energy, Lily played an essential role in his adjustment to a new environment. The two developed an inseparable friendship!
Before too long, Stephanie made the heartfelt decision to turn Simon into a permanent family member, marking a new chapter in their tale!
“One evening, as I sat on the couch, he hopped up beside me, let out a deep sigh, and rested his head on my lap. In that moment, I realized I could never let him go,” Stephanie confided to The Dodo.
The Ideal Activity
Stephanie recognized that Simon was unlike any ordinary Pittie, and his high energy required appropriate outlets. Thus, she devised an incredible plan!
One day, she took Simon to a local dock diving event to observe his reaction to the new activity – and he discovered his absolute passion!
Simon became utterly enchanted with the pool and everything associated with it. Initially, during his training sessions, he struggled to maintain his balance on the dock. However, over time, he mastered the techniques and began competing.
In a pool spanning 40 feet, Simon achieved a personal best of 19 feet, 6 inches.
Instead of running, he virtually soared each time Stephanie tossed a ball into the water. Simon, with his uniquely charming looks and an endearingly sweet smile, looked extraordinary indulging in what he loved most.
As a delightful bonus, he would always return home blissful, ready to snuggle with his momma and his sister, bestowing them with affectionate cuddles.
From Healing The Pain To Finding A New Companion
In 2020, Stephanie received devastating news. Her longtime companion and Simon’s dearest friend, Lily, was diagnosed with cancer.
Despite receiving the best treatment and care, she sadly passed away in 2021, just nine months after the diagnosis, leaving the entire family heartbroken.
Simon was inconsolable, mourning the loss of his sister until one day, his mom took a step toward healing.
While scrolling through social media, Stephanie stumbled upon a picture of Mabel. Immediately captivated, she decided to give this new pup a chance, and what a decision that turned out to be!
It felt like a message from Lily, whispering, “Hey, little brother, it’s time for your next adventure!”
Simon embraced this change with courage!
He warmly welcomed his new sister, guiding her just as Lily once guided him.
“Mabel certainly brightened Simon’s spirits. She rejuvenated his energy. Now, Simon demonstrates the same patience towards Mabel that Lily once showed him. They are truly a dynamic duo,” Stephanie affirms.
Though Simon is now in his senior years, his new sister revitalizes his zest for life. With her around, he truly feels like a young pup once more, diving into fresh adventures and cherishing every moment!
Simon and Mabel still have many joyful memories to create together as they journey ahead.
And one thing is for certain: Simon’s trendy eyebrows will remain timeless, regardless of his age!
