Diversity is not a defect, and Honey Stubbs is a prime example of this truth.
In fact, her unique condition sets her apart, rendering her special in the most heartwarming way possible.
After being discovered in dire circumstances, this adorable two-legged pup embarked on her journey with the care of Rescue PAWS. Her initial months were challenging, yet Honey was determined to exhibit just how beautiful and affectionate she could be!
She Was Timid Until She Met Someone Remarkable
Honey Stubbs was found by compassionate locals when she was just a few weeks old. She was missing the lower parts of her back legs, extremely underweight, and had wounds from dragging her body on the ground.
Additionally, she was deeply fearful of people.
“Being so young and left to fend for herself, Honey came in scared, malnourished, and with sores all over her back legs,” RP shared on Facebook.
During a feeding mission, Becca and her colleagues at RP stumbled upon this fragile pup. It was heartbreaking to witness a dog in such dire straits, but thankfully, Rescue Paws had a plan.
Once they spotted her, they understood that Honey couldn’t remain alone anymore.
The rescue brought her in, where she received her first bath and had her injuries treated. However, despite the care, Honey remained very anxious and uneasy.
She spent a significant amount of time hiding in a corner, refusing to come out. Whenever someone attempted to approach her, she would instantly flee.
Then, a remarkable individual arrived!
Holly, one of the volunteers, understood Honey’s anxiety. She dedicated innumerable hours simply sitting nearby and speaking to her with the utmost gentleness. Holly patiently awaited the moment when Honey would feel secure enough to leave her corner and approach her.
In due time, a miracle happened!
Honey gradually crawled into Holly’s lap and even rolled onto her back for belly rubs. This pivotal moment signified that Honey had chosen to trust Holly, clearly expressing, “Holly, you’re my favorite Pawson now!”
With each passing day, this courageous dog emerged from her shell, ultimately uncovering her true, vibrant personality!
“Honey is now slowly coming into her own, revealing her wonderfully quirky spirit and impressive core strength. She zips around with just her front legs and two back legs lifted off the ground, and absolutely adores beach strolls!” her caregivers shared on Facebook.
Honey Stubbs – A Joyful Pup Who Steals Hearts
Within just a few months, this darling dog became the rescue’s emblem of joy. Nowadays, Honey radiates incredible energy and seeks to capture everyone’s attention.
What keeps everyone in awe is her boundless energy; despite her challenges, she consistently wears a bright, beautiful smile that showcases her inner resilience.
Honey is undoubtedly the happiest dog around, yearning for love and companionship.
Honey has come such a long way since her rescue. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see her blossoming into a more self-assured pup. She even allows other volunteers at the rescue to pet her now.
Ultimately, however, what Honey desires most is a loving forever home.
“All she wants is a chance to find her permanent family that appreciates her uniqueness and understands that settling in may take time,” RP expressed on Facebook.
When the time comes, I am confident that this resilient fur baby will bring untold happiness to a loving family. She is a lover, a friend, and the best companion anyone could ever wish for. And she truly deserves a wonderful home!
