In the initial weeks of his life, he faced significant challenges and fought valiantly for his survival. After the tragic loss of six siblings at birth, he was the only one with a fighting chance. Defying all odds, he seized it!
Hoop endured countless nights and days grappling to breathe, eat, and even move. Today, he stands as a joyful pup, a testament to resilience and determination.

Hoop Faced Daunting Challenges
When Ola from Pawsitive Beginnings LA first encountered Hoop at the shelter, she felt an immediate need to help. This little guy seemed so lifeless and barely held onto life. His inability to move was a clear signal for Ola to rush him to the vet without delay.
“When I picked him up from the shelter, I thought, I need to get to the vet immediately. He was just a tiny two-week-old potato who could barely move,” Ola shared with Cuddle Buddies.
On his initial visit to the vet, Hoop was diagnosed with a severe case of pneumonia. His mother struggled to nurse him due to the fact that she gave birth too early, leaving Hoop in critical condition and in dire need of human intervention.
“The sounds he made while coughing were horrific. I’ve never encountered anything like it,” Ola recalled.
Although the vet could not ensure Hoop’s survival, his new foster mom never lost faith. He received round-the-clock care at the clinic, including oxygen therapy and medication.
Every day that he managed to survive felt like a significant victory and a miracle since he was not expected to live. Then, a few weeks into his treatment, Hoop began to prove everyone wrong!
This Little Fighter Has Overcome
Hoop truly embraced life and made it abundantly clear. Even during the most challenging moments, this little warrior refused to surrender. Despite his significant cough and frailty, he consistently pushed through and sought out opportunities for short cuddle sessions with his caregivers.
Once he emerged from intensive care, he began playing alongside Ola’s three larger dogs, showcasing his spirited nature.
He never acknowledged despair as a possibility. In the end, Hoop triumphed over pneumonia, emerging completely symptom-free.
“I’m finally able to say that HOOP HAS MADE IT. This resilient little fighter has kept me alert, but I genuinely feel he’s out of danger now…He’s almost finished with his medications and is totally symptom-free. I’m overjoyed to the point of tears,” Ola expressed on Instagram.
Witnessing this courageous pup embrace life as he always deserved was incredibly fulfilling. After enduring so many sleepless nights and tough moments, he has finally made it, and his happiness shines brighter than ever!
Thanks to Ola’s unwavering commitment to help Hoop recover, he now has the opportunity for a new beginning. Although she would love to adopt him, having three dogs already poses a challenge for her to make room for Hoop.
Consequently, Hoop is seeking a forever family that will love and embrace him just as Ola did.
In the meantime, he will relish his time in his foster home in Los Angeles and have many more thrilling adventures with his siblings.
