Pup Spends Days Hiding in Los Angeles Sewers from a Frightening World

Date:

Extraordinary moments often occur when you least expect them. Such was the case for Becks Goodman, who, during a routine drive, noticed something unusual by a sewer. Upon stopping to investigate, she discovered a little pup in desperate need of help. Without hesitation, Goodman embarked on a remarkable rescue mission that would forever change the pup’s life.

The little pooch’s condition was far from ideal, suffering from extensive matting all over his body, which caused him significant pain. Fortunately, he wasn’t overly hungry, as kind-hearted individuals had left food for him. Although Goodman tried to coax him with love, the terrified pup remained firmly within the sewer, only emerging when food beckoned.

The frightened pup, later named Lambert, was in quite a predicament, prompting Goodman to seek help from fellow rescuers Mary Nakiso and Suzette Hall. Hall quickly realized that using a trap wouldn’t be effective, given that Lambert wasn’t hungry but merely terrified. After surveying the area, the rescuers enlisted the help of nearby workers who had tools, notably a crowbar. Together, they managed to pry open the circular lid of the sewer, finally allowing Lambert a way out.

As the lid was removed, Lambert was freed but remained visibly shaken, understandably so after being trapped for an unknown length of time.

Finally Safe

Showering Lambert with affection, Suzette rushed him to the vet, where a thorough medical assessment revealed the severity of his condition. The extensive matting on his fur had to be completely shaved, a process uncomfortable for Lambert but essential for his well-being. He knew enduring it would lead to a significantly improved life.

It’s uncertain how long Lambert endured this suffering or if he ever experienced love before, but what matters now is that he was found just in time. His troubled past has started to fade with each day spent at his new home, and he will gradually learn that there’s nothing a little love can’t heal. No longer does Lambert have to conceal himself in the darkness of the sewer; he is now surrounded by caring humans who want nothing but the best for him. His journey serves as a vital reminder that even the smallest rescues can lead to immense rewards.
