Aah… early spring! Nature slowly awakens day by day, and before you know it, the days become longer, warmer, and brimming with excitement. Everything comes alive in spring—animals, plants, and even people. The first brave little flowers peek through the remaining patches of snow, trying to defeat the cold.
What Kind Of Flower Is That?

It was meant to be an ordinary morning for Karen from Malvern, Pennsylvania. Enjoying a cup of coffee and making mental notes of her errands, she never anticipated finding a surprise visitor in her empty flower bed. At first glance, it appeared to be some stubborn flowers, but on closer inspection, she realized the ‘flower’ was staring directly at her.
It was a stray dog, trembling and frozen from the chilly March weather. Concerned, Karen hurried outside with a blanket to warm the shivering pup and a bowl of comforting chicken soup. The dog was soaked and dirty, and Karen knew she didn’t have the ability to take care of it alone. Professionals were needed.
Within moments, Karen was on the phone with Nicole Asher from Buddha Dog Rescue & Recovery. Asher advised her to provide more food to help the distressed dog relax, ensuring that any approach was gradual and non-threatening. “Karen calmly and quietly putting out food and leaving her be allowed [the dog] to feel comfortable enough to return,” Asher mentioned.
Then came the delightful surprise! The impressive pup didn’t take long to hop into the crate prepared for her. Karen and Asher rushed her straight to Buddha Rescue to check if she had a microchip.

Turns out, the rescued dog was actually named Ella and had been in a foster program with MatchDog Rescue. To everyone’s amazement, she had walked a staggering twelve miles to reach Karen’s home after running away two weeks ago.

“We were beyond thrilled,” Asher expressed. “When I contacted Ella’s foster family, they were initially shocked, but there were plentiful happy tears and cries of joy afterward. The rescue’s president came and took her back home to rest and recover from her harrowing experience. She’s settled right in and enjoys lounging around.”
Ella is thriving! From being a stray that sought refuge under a bush to becoming a cherished house pet, her journey has been remarkable. Now, she can relax and savor the beauty that life has to offer.
