Pennsylvania Rescuer Proves This “Scary” Dog Is Actually the Sweetest After Giving Him a Toy

Date:

Green Bean arrived at the Pennsylvania SPCA after being rescued from a dog fighting ring, alongside 32 other dogs. While many of his companions quickly found loving homes, Green Bean sadly remained at the shelter for over two years. Unfortunately, he was unjustly labeled as a villain, scary, and even a monster, despite his sweet demeanor. He hardly got a chance to reveal his true self.

From ‘Scary’ To Adorable

Rachel, a volunteer at the Pennsylvania SPCA and an animal influencer, quickly recognized Green Bean for who he truly was – an utterly sweet and loving dog. The moment she saw him, she was drawn to his gentle spirit. Like many, she believed that his lengthy stay at the shelter stemmed solely from his troubled background as, otherwise, he was an ideal pet.

“He was always smiling for anybody. He was in the shelter for two years, that’s just crazy to me, an animal in the shelter for two years and still be happy to see you,” Rachel shared with GeoBeats Animals. Despite his difficult past, Green Bean was always a joyful soul waiting for love at his kennel. “He would just come, wag his tail and was literally smiling. That’s what his greeting was like,” Rachel added.

During his two-year stay, Rachel and Green Bean formed a profound bond. She regularly took him off campus, and he thrived on their outings, relishing the world outside the shelter. “People keep on judging, saying, this dog is scary. I never felt unsafe with him, ever,” Rachel assured. Whenever Green Bean saw a toy, he would utterly melt, like a child on Christmas.

He’s just a little dog who adores his toy.

Green Bean Going Home

Rachel has always believed that Pitbulls are incredibly sweet despite their ‘bad’ reputation. “I think many people don’t give these dogs a chance because they are afraid. People automatically think, ‘oh Pitbull, they’re aggressive’ but they really aren’t; it’s all about training,” Rachel explained.
