Cold-hearted individuals often overlook the fear and sadness that every abandoned dog, like a little white puppy named Roxy, experiences. At just eight weeks old, Roxy was left behind in a cardboard box, confused and unsure of her fate. She curled up tightly, hoping for comfort and reassurance that everything would be okay.
A Sigh Of Relief

One ordinary day, a resident in Pennsylvania discovered an unusual cardboard box labeled “free puppy” in front of their home. As reported by Sara Hornbeck, director of East Coast Bulldog Rescue, the Good Samaritan was shocked to find Roxy with her adorable puppy eyes staring back at her. The moment Roxy laid eyes on her rescuer, she felt a wave of relief wash over her, sensing that she was finally safe. The resident quickly contacted Animal Control, who promptly picked Roxy up and brought her to a shelter.
Roxy’s New Beginning

East Coast Bulldog Rescue, a dedicated volunteer-run organization in Pittsburgh, quickly stepped in to help Roxy. Upon seeing her, the rescuers were captivated by her friendly and sweet demeanor, having a hard time understanding how anyone could abandon such a lovable puppy. Sara Hornbeck remarked, “Once we picked her up from the animal control kennel, we quickly discovered she was the sweetest, most lovable girl and was surprisingly in good shape for a puppy that had been discarded like trash.” During her ride to freedom, Roxy appeared bewildered but soon calmed down, comforted by the kindness of her rescuers. The staff immediately fell in love with her and shared her story on social media.

Roxy found her forever home shortly after, when a grieving woman, heartbroken after losing her beloved Pittie, Junie Bug, came across Roxy’s touching story. Roxy captured her heart, leading her to welcome the little pup into her life and shower her with love. This new mom believed Roxy would be the perfect companion for her dog, Murphy. Now, Roxy enjoys a happy life, feeling safe and cherished in her mom’s embrace.
