Now, imagine stepping into an arcade with the intent to win a prize, only to walk away with an actual live furry animal instead of a regular plush toy! Sounds unbelievable, right? That’s precisely what happened to one girl from Pennsylvania during her claw machine experience.
What Is It
The girl was taken aback when she spotted an actual moving prize at Meadows Family Fun Center. It was clear she wasn’t staring at an ordinary stuffed toy! This strange occurrence prompted her to call the fun center staff. To their amazement, instead of a plush toy, an actual live groundhog appeared!
The staff was bewildered by how this little creature ended up in the claw machine. The most plausible explanation was that the groundhog had crawled in unnoticed and decided to nestle among the plush toys. What a clever way to blend in with the cozy stuffed animals!
The Center quickly reached out to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, who arrived promptly. Experienced Warden Zaffuto took charge of the rescue mission.
“When Warden Zaffuto responded and approached the machine, he saw a wave of stuffed animals move as the groundhog scurried around underneath, then it popped its head out to assess the situation,” Pennsylvania Game Commission – Southcentral Region shared in a Facebook post.
The Strange Visitor Is Safely Released
Warden Zaffuto decided against testing his claw-machine skills, opting instead for a safer approach to release the unexpected visitor. Instead, the team chose to contact the vending machine company, which proved to be a wise decision. The Game Commission remarked, “The vending machine company was contacted to unlock the machine, allowing Warden Zaffuto to safely capture the groundhog and release it unharmed.”
The groundhog was successfully rescued and released, and thankfully, it emerged unharmed. The staff expressed relief watching the furry creature safe and sound. As for the girl who stumbled upon this “unexpected prize,” it’s certain she will remember this unusual adventure for years to come. After all, that’s the essence of fun centers!
