Owners Abandon Dog on Streets Because of a Treatable Skin Condition

Date:

In challenging times, some dog owners unfortunately opt to abandon their pets instead of confronting the issues at hand.

This is the story of a little dog named Buzz. Though Buzz once had a family, they didn’t provide him the care he deserved throughout his life.

When Buzz fell ill, rather than seek necessary medical attention, his owners chose to leave him on the street, unwilling to manage the situation.

While Buzz roamed the streets alone, he caught the attention of a compassionate tourist who chose to reach out to a local rescue organization instead of ignoring the suffering dog.

Mission Pawsible is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on aiding homeless animals. Prue Barber, the founder and sole rescuer, leads this admirable initiative.

However, rescuing Buzz required significant effort, as he was incredibly frightened and evasive.

Finally, after several days of searching and with the help of a caring network of dog lovers, Prue was fortunate enough to locate Buzz in a small village.

“Seeing Buzz was utterly heartbreaking. He was just skin and bones, infested with scabies, yet his eyes showed an incredible plea for help,” shared Prue with Cuddle Buddies.

After making inquiries, Prue discovered that Buzz once had a family who had callously admitted to abandoning him on the streets because they were unwilling to care for him anymore.

They explicitly stated they had no intention of taking him back.

Buzz’s ailments could have been easily treated if his previous owners had just taken the time to care for him properly.

Upon capturing Buzz, he was promptly taken to the vet for immediate medical attention.

An Inspiring TransFURmation

“One person’s discard is another’s treasure, and Buzz has landed safely in our care where he will receive medical treatment, affection, and rehabilitation to become the best version of himself,” stated Mission Pawsible in their post.

Buzz was treated for scabies and Prue ensured he followed an all-natural, raw diet to promote fur regrowth.

Thankfully, Buzz’s recovery was swift, and once he regained his health, he moved into a foster home with Prue and her other dogs.

Gradually, Buzz began to flourish, showcasing his playful and energetic spirit. “He was transforming into the dog he was always meant to be, shedding any trust issues,” Prue remarked.

After approximately four weeks, Buzz rediscovered his zest for life, and within seven weeks, his fur had completely regrown, rendering him nearly unrecognizable.

Buzz emerged as a gorgeous Golden Retriever mix with soft, shiny fur—a stark contrast to his initial state at the beginning of this journey.

Fortunately, Buzz’s tale concludes with joy, as he not only regained his health but was also warmly welcomed into a loving family.

“He’s become their entire world, lavished with affection. He’s allowed on the couch and the bed, and he enjoys beach outings with them. He truly is one of the happiest dogs you’ll ever meet,” Prue shared.
