A woman discovers a puppy on a Facebook pet adoption page, seeking a loving home. However, the situation quickly becomes bittersweet when she returns for the dog’s sister.
Instead of joyfully reuniting the Great Dane Poodle puppy named Lovey with her sister, Wrenatha was left in shock. The other puppy she adopted was in dire shape, clearly suffering from malnutrition.
Could the tale of these two puppy sisters end on a happy note? Or has Wrenatha arrived too late to make a difference?
A Severely Emaciated Puppy Sister

While scrolling through Facebook, Wrenatha came across an Ohio group that re-homes pets for various reasons. A nine-week-old puppy, later named Lovey, was looking for a family.
The person re-homing Lovey explained that managing both puppies was overwhelming, requiring her to find a new home for one. Wrenatha, an experienced dog owner, eagerly took Lovey home, where she seemed healthy, happy, and playful—just like a typical puppy.
However, Lovey was in need of a playmate since two of Wrenatha’s senior dogs were not fond of playing. She decided to reach out to the woman to inquire about adopting another puppy.
When Wrenatha contacted the woman, she was informed that the only available puppy left was Lovey’s sister. The woman agreed to let her adopt both puppies, ensuring they could stay together.
Arrangements were made, and Wrenatha met the woman in a parking lot. A strange atmosphere lingered as the woman tightly held another pup in her arms. After handing the puppy over to Wrenatha, she drove off quickly.
What Wrenatha discovered was heartbreaking. Poor Noodle was in extremely poor condition. She appeared terribly emaciated, despite the woman claiming she had only missed a few meals since being a picky eater.

Looking at Noodle, it was evident that her condition had worsened beyond just missing a few meals. The puppies could hardly stand on their legs! Wrenatha rushed her to the vet, who diagnosed her with worms, despite the previous owner claiming that she had been dewormed.
To make matters worse, Noodle had infected paws from being forced to stand in filthy conditions. Her legs were bent as a result of spending too much time in a crate, clearly indicating neglect.
Did Wrenatha arrive too late to save this puppy and provide her with a nurturing home?
Noodle And Lovey, Furever Together

Great news from Wrenatha’s home in Ohio!
Only three days after coming to her new family, Noodle began to show significant improvements. Her legs were starting to straighten, she was gradually gaining weight, and her spirits were high as she started behaving like a cheerful puppy.
The two sisters were truly fortunate to have been taken in by Wrenatha. This devoted animal lover has a home filled with pets that receive continuous affection and care, and it shows in how healthy and happy they look.
After a few months with Noodle and Lovey, Wrenatha shared an update about the sisters. Their lives have taken a beautiful turn, and they are now savoring every moment. Noodle has gained 15 pounds, which is remarkable for a dog who was previously so malnourished.
On her TikTok account, Wrenatha regularly posts delightful videos of the pups, allowing everyone to witness Noodle’s journey to recovery.
“She is a definite cuddle bug. She loves to come up to anyone nearby to introduce herself and seeks affection. You can see she feels relaxed, happy, and truly senses the love we have for her,” Wrenatha shared with We Love Animals.
It perplexes me that Noodle’s previous owner was aware of her deteriorating condition yet took no action to assist her. She even attempted to obscure the puppy’s desperate situation. I shudder to think about what may have happened to this precious girl if she hadn’t been adopted alongside her sister.
Noodle and Lovey will forever be cherished in Wrenatha’s loving home, where they belong with her little animal kingdom. She exemplifies how to care for dogs in need: by providing them with a loving home, showing unconditional love, and ensuring their well-being.
