Sometimes, while getting ready for work, you think your day will be just like any other, but then you stumble upon something unexpected. A service plumber, Trevor Hayes, spends his days assisting clients, yet one workday took a surprising twist.
On his way to a plumbing job, Hayes noticed a feathery brown ball near a garage door two houses down. When he took a closer look, he was astonished; the ball turned around and looked directly at him, and it was clear that the creature needed help.
Strange Discovery

“It was just staring at me and didn’t look like it was doing good,” Hayes recounted to The Dodo. He recognized it as an owl immediately; familiar with local wildlife, he found it unusual to see one in the daylight, particularly in front of a garage. Believing the owl was merely disoriented, he decided to let it be while he continued with his work. However, upon finishing, he returned to find the owl still in the same spot, which deeply saddened him.

“I figured I should probably do something, so I knocked on the homeowner’s door but didn’t receive an answer,” Hayes mentioned.
Rescue Mission
Realizing that professionals would be better suited to assist, he reached out to RAPTOR Inc., a bird rehabilitation center in Milford, Ohio. The staff provided Hayes with detailed instructions on safely capturing the owl.
Equipped with a box, thick gloves, and a drop cloth, Hayes returned with determination. Before long, the owl was snug in a box, ready to head to RAPTOR Inc.

The staff at the rehabilitation center welcomed Hayes and the owl with graciousness, providing top-notch care to ensure the owl’s swift recovery. “They said the owl is doing great,” Hayes shared.

According to Hayes, the beautiful owl was later moved into a larger enclosure at the Milford rescue and is expected to be released back into nature very soon. Everyone is incredibly excited for this magnificent creature to once again soar through the starry skies, enjoying its life to the fullest.
