North Carolina Woman Shocked by What Her Dog Did While She Was Gone

Date:

Have you ever wondered what your dog does when you’re not home? I often take my dogs with me, but there are times they must stay behind to watch the fort. I hadn’t considered getting a camera for the inside of my house—my outdoor camera sufficed. Yet, I can’t shake the curiosity regarding my dogs’ antics when I’m away.

A woman from Durham, North Carolina, discovered she could monitor her dog with a camera when she wasn’t around. What Sundae, her 10-year-old Labrador, did while her mom was gone astounded everyone, especially on social media.

Who’s That Watching Me?

Now I’ll finally be able to see what she does when I’m not around and why my things keep disappearing into her dog bed. That’s what Sundae’s mom thought while installing that indoor camera. Whenever she stepped out for errands, she returned home to find her Labrador covered in various items—socks, chapsticks, shoes, shirts, and anything that carried mom’s scent.

“When I’d leave her home, even just for a little while, I’d come back to find my shoes, socks, and random items like ChapStick in her bed. I’d never seen her take the stuff, and I was so curious to catch her in the act,” Sundae’s mom said.

Mom didn’t wait long to test her new camera. After installing it, she needed groceries and took that chance to leave Sundae at home. The camera, a modern model, sent notifications to her phone upon detecting movement. Sure enough, her phone beeped, and she activated the live feed.

What was Sundae up to? Was she making a mess, tearing through the living room, or scratching at the door? Was she in distress? You’d never guess what this sweet dog did. Instead of causing chaos, Sundae went to the front door, lay there looking sad, and waited for her mom to return.

“Every time she repositioned by the door, I received a notification,” Sundae’s mom recounted. “My heart broke; I was tearing up in the grocery store watching her wait for me.”

Fortunately, stores like Hobby Lobby and T.J.Maxx are dog-friendly, allowing Sundae to accompany her mom shopping.

Ms. Sundae, The TikTok Star

The video of Sundae waiting for her mom by the front door went viral on TikTok, garnering over 2 million views. This sweet pup is now quite famous on the platform, and her fame doesn’t end there. Did you know that Sundae is a superstar known for sporting various costumes?

It all began when Sundae was bitten by some ants, leading to a nasty rash. Her mom needed to apply a special ointment on her belly but struggled with keeping the dog from licking it. A cone wasn’t an option. So, she creatively cut a pair of her sweatpants and fashioned them for Sundae to prevent her from licking the ointment. To her delight, Sundae loved her new attire, and soon her wardrobe expanded with an array of fashionable accessories, including sunglasses, jewelry, and even wigs. She has become quite the fashionista!
