As a proud former dog owner, I can confidently say that I often indulged my dog with plenty of cuddles and treats—okay, maybe more than just occasionally, and he relished every moment. This sometimes led him to be a tad overdramatic, especially when he felt unwell, as we’d shower him with gifts and food, and he would perk up instantly.
Similarly, Jean and her husband, Kirby, experienced a scare with their dog, Jaqweenie, during a visit to their local park in North Carolina. While they were enjoying their time, they noticed something was off with Jaqweenie; he was holding up one of his hind legs and it started shaking.
What Was The Injury

Upon examining Jaqweenie, they couldn’t see any clear injuries and suspected a possible broken leg. Acting quickly, they rushed him to the ER, only to find it busy and unable to take him immediately.

In a scramble, they diverted to a local veterinary clinic where Jaqweenie underwent a thorough examination. They began by checking his blood pressure and examining his patella to rule out any dislocation. To their surprise, nothing seemed amiss, leaving the veterinary staff puzzled.
It Was A Very Small Cut

After some time, a vet finally discovered that Jaqweenie had a minute cut on one of his paws—so small that it had gone unnoticed until then; it didn’t even bleed. The vets likened it to a ‘paper cut,’ yet it cost $150 to treat his ‘injury.’ They quickly applied a special bandage, but since Jaqweenie was reluctant to walk, his parents had to carry him.
Once they got home, they lavished him with cuddles and kisses, which he clearly enjoyed. Eventually, he found the strength to wander into the kitchen for a snack, confirming to his parents that all was well and he would soon be back to his playful self.

The entire incident turned into a humorous story for Jean and Kirby, leading them to share a video on Instagram, declaring, “Bless his heart! I’m glad Jaqweenie has become so sheltered that the tiniest cut rocks his world.” In the end, they found Jaqweenie’s exaggerated reaction quite relatable, and the positive responses to their video brought them joy.
