As a former proud dog owner, I admit that I often spoiled my dog with lots of cuddles and treats, probably more often than I should have. He thrived on it and became a bit dramatic about such indulgences. Whenever he felt under the weather, we would shower him with gifts and food, and he would quickly perk up in our company.
Jean and her husband, Kirby, faced a similar scare one day at their local park in North Carolina when their dog, Jaqweenie, seemed to be in distress. They noticed he was holding up one of his hind legs, shaking it nervously. Concerned, his owners rushed to investigate, and even though they checked his leg thoroughly and found no visible injuries, they suspected it could be broken.
What Was The Injury
When they examined Jaqweenie’s leg, they noted he was still shaking it. They hurried him to the ER, but unfortunately, it was full and couldn’t accommodate him immediately. Adapting quickly, they changed their plans and drove to a veterinarian clinic nearby in North Carolina, where he received a thorough examination.
Once there, the veterinary staff applied a blood pressure cuff on Jaqweenie and checked his knee for dislocations, but none of these assessments provided answers.
It Was A Very Small Cut
Eventually, one of the veterinarians discovered a very small cut on one of Jaqweenie’s paws—so tiny it had previously gone unnoticed. It didn’t even bleed, resembling more of a ‘paper cut’, yet it came with a hefty bill of $150.
The veterinary team quickly applied a specialized bandage to Jaqweenie’s ‘injury’; however, he was too reluctant to walk on his own and had to be carried by his parents. Once home, he was met with an abundance of cuddles and kisses, which he clearly reveled in.
After receiving abundant love from his parents, Jaqweenie mustered the strength to head into the kitchen for a snack, which reassured them that he was on the mend. They found the entire ordeal quite amusing, later posting a video on Instagram with the caption: “Bless his heart! I’m glad Jaqweenie has become so sheltered that the tiniest cut rocks his world.”
The hilarious nature of Jaqweenie’s response resonated with many, and Jean and Kirby were delighted by the positive feedback the video garnered.
