Frankie, a five-week-old Pit Bull puppy, experienced sadness and confusion for the first time in his life after being abandoned by his family. They left him in a Pampers diaper box on West Side property in Buffalo, New York. With his adorable head peeking out, Frankie looked around with longing eyes, hoping for a kind soul to notice him and bring him to safety.
The Puppy Gets Help

Robin, a local business owner, was taken aback when she spotted Frankie in front of her store. She quickly picked him up, assuring him that help was on the way. Relieved to see a kind face, Frankie sensed he was in good hands. A passionate supporter of West Side Cat Rescue, Robin contacted them to take Frankie in. Jamie Mulligan, the founder of the shelter, received her call and suspected that whoever abandoned Frankie had hoped he would receive necessary care.

The rescue team agreed to take Frankie in and lovingly cared for him, refusing to send him to an overcrowded shelter. An official from West Side Cat Rescue stated, “Unfortunately, the local shelters here are full of pit bulls that no one wants to adopt, so Jamie knew she couldn’t bring him to an overcrowded shelter,” they told The Dodo.
Frankie immediately won over the hearts of the staff, who recognized that the little pup was desperate for love. His new friends transported him to the vet for a checkup, followed by providing him with puppy food, a leash, and a collar, preparing him for foster care.
Frankie Finds True Love

Jamie’s daughter, who frequently helps at the rescue, took the opportunity to foster Frankie. His life transformed drastically in her care; she showered him with affection, leading to a deep bond between them. When it became clear she was growing attached, the family decided to change his name to Percy.
The representative mentioned, “It’s now looking like [Jamie’s] daughter has become attached. Percy is now a foster fail,” signaling a heartwarming conclusion. Surrounded by love, Percy felt secure and cherished in his forever home, with his puppy eyes glowing with joy. Percy knew he had found his happily ever after.
