When you truly care about your humans, letting go can be tough—just ask Hunty, a lovable New Jersey Shepherd mix. He adores his mom and dad, Sara and Ryan, and was heartbroken to be separated from them, even if only for a brief eleven days.
Hunty Thought He Was Dreaming
Hunty showed incredible resilience during their time apart, enduring separation anxiety while dreaming of their reunion and the kisses he would shower upon them. When the long-anticipated moment arrived, however, it caught him completely off guard. Sara and Ryan returned late at night from their vacation, sneaking into the room where Hunty was sleeping at 11:30 p.m. He never expected to see them at such an hour.
Upon waking, Hunty quickly switched to cuddle mode. “It’s 11:30 P.M. and you get woken up by your mom and dad to go home after 11 days of not seeing them,” they wrote in the video. For a moment, he was understandably confused, looking as though he couldn’t believe what was happening.

But the confusion was short-lived! Once he recognized that it wasn’t a dream, his tail started wagging, and he showered his pawrents with affection. It was time for Hunty to relish the long-overdue cuddles. After what felt like an eternity, their eleven-day wait came to a sweet end!
He’s Included In Pretty Much Everything
Being an incredible companion, Hunty is always at his mom and dad’s side, greatly involved in every aspect of their lives, including the special moments. He even played a crucial role in their wedding, bringing heartwarming joy to their special day.
Though a rescue dog, Sara and Ryan often joke that he is truly their son. “I don’t think non-pet owners really get it. This is not just the dog. This is my son,” she mentions in a TikTok video.
Hunty cherishes being part of Sara and Ryan’s family, enjoying their New Jersey home, daily walks, friendly gatherings, fun trips to the beach, and a host of exciting daily adventures. Grateful for his loving family, he wouldn’t trade this life for anything!
