Mom Took Her Daughter’s Dog to the Groomer to Help, but Ended Up Bringing Tears to Her Eyes Instead

Date:

All pet owners strive to provide their dogs with the utmost care to ensure they are happy and fulfilled. Alongside delicious and healthy meals, fresh water, shelter, and endless affection, consistent grooming is also essential.

With proper attention, pets can avoid unpleasant infections and remain fresh-smelling, appearing well-groomed as well. However, it’s important to note that each breed has unique grooming requirements. If an owner or caregiver isn’t aware of these specifics, they might unintentionally cause their dog more harm than good.

A similar incident unfolded in Miami, Florida when a well-meaning mother chose to take her daughter’s dog to a grooming salon.

What should have brought smiles ended up creating tears instead.

From Trim To Grim

Meet Jax, a cherished addition to the family since he was a puppy. Now at seven years of age, he is regarded as one of the most stunning Pembroke Welsh Corgis in Miami, particularly in the eyes of his owner, Adriana Serret.

While Adriana’s mother also recognized his cuteness, she nonetheless decided to take Jax to the groomer, despite knowing that this breed generally does not require frequent grooming. Unfortunately, she seemed unaware of this fact.

After the grooming appointment concluded, she was left holding a completely different dog, feeling perplexed. The situation escalated when Adriana, upon seeing her dog, was left utterly speechless – the transformation of Jax was shocking.

“My mom believed trimming his fur was essential due to the heat. There must’ve been a mix-up between the groomer and my mom, and that’s how we ended up with this result. I was heartbroken because you shouldn’t cut a corgi’s fur,” Adriana told Newsweek.

Adriana chose to share this distressing transformation with her followers by posting a TikTok video on her account, @adrianaserret.

“When my mom brought our corgi for a ‘trim…’” was how she began her post. “And this is how he returned.”

“I literally cried LOL,” a devastated Adriana captioned the clip.

“Jack Russell”

This particular video garnered attention not only in Miami but across the nation and even beyond.

Many reactions flooded in, and we highlighted a few comments.

“I’m honestly gullible. Are you certain this is the same dog? 😭 Who would do such a thing?” one user inquired with concern.

“Oh no! This is so detrimental to corgi coats 😭,” another commenter lamented.

Meanwhile, a third chimed in humorously: “Dropped off a Corgi, came home with a Jack Russell.”

While some viewers found humor in the transformation, many were disheartened by it. Still, there’s good news to conclude with.

“His fur began to grow back a few weeks later, and he returned to his normal self in about four months,” Adriana joyfully reported in the end.

Though there were a few months of adapting to life with what felt like a Jack Russell Terrier instead of a Corgi, this story ultimately brings a smile, especially for Jax’s owner.
