Stray canines dream of being rescued from dangerous streets, longing for kindness and love to heal their past. Tabea, a sweet homeless pup, needed help more than ever. Weak and malnourished, she roamed the streets of St. Louis, Missouri, until one day she found herself on a family’s porch, hoping for compassion. Curling up on a blanket she found, she made herself as small as possible.
Good Humans Take Care Of Her
A compassionate woman living in the house felt heartbroken at the sight of the sad pup. Reaching out to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, she informed them about the dog in dire need of help. Donna Lochmann and her team rushed in a rescue Jeep to pick her up. Upon arrival, they were devastated to see Tabea’s emaciated body covered in scars. The dog looked desolate, having seemingly given up hope.
Lochmann spoke softly to her, gently stroking her head while placing a leash around her neck. Tabea, as she was later named, finally trusted them and came along. Once at the shelter, the staff showered her with affection. Although initially confused, Tabea soon realized she was safe and loved, melting the hearts of everyone around her.
Getting A Ton Of Love And The Necessary Care
Eventually, Tabea received a visit to the vet, where she was diagnosed with an ear infection, and an X-ray revealed a broken part of her tail that needed amputation. Fortunately, the vet provided excellent care, and Tabea started to feel much better. Her gentle nature emerged, and she became increasingly affectionate and trusting. However, as she began to heal, she developed an autoimmune condition causing her neck and back pain. Nevertheless, her resilient spirit shone through as she fought alongside her shelter friends.
“… Our amazing Dr Schulz was confident she would be ok. She gave her steroids, which thankfully worked and now she is up and moving and cuddling again,” the rescue shared on Instagram.
Tabea eventually went to a foster home, where she received additional love and care to aid her continued healing.
Tabea Finds The Love She Always Wished For
On December 21st, 2022, the rescue shared the joyous news that Tabea had found her forever family. Her new mom envelops her in love, making Tabea feel cherished as she truly deserves to be.
Tabea is overjoyed, constantly smiling and basking in the love she has found. We are delighted that Tabea has found her happily ever after, thanks to all the wonderful humans who offered their help when she needed it most.
