Winter is a magical time of year, filled with snowfalls, charming decorations that light up the city, and people eagerly rushing to shops for warm hot chocolate. However, our four-legged friends, particularly strays, do not share in the joy of the chill. The cold is harsh for them, especially without adequate shelter, which sadly many, unfortunately, lack.
This often leads to dogs seeking refuge in yards, under vehicles, in crawlspaces, garages, or porches—just like this little cutie.
She Was Literally Freezing
The Stray Rescue of St. Louis team in Missouri received a heart-wrenching call recently. A kind passerby had seen a shivering dog curled up on a porch, alone and without assistance and immediately reached out for help. Rescue officer Donna Lochmann and her team quickly sprang into action and soon found an adorable face with the cutest ears, curled up in a fuzzy ball.
The dog was sweet and remained calm as Donna approached, as if she knew help was on the way. Cold and in desperate need of warmth, she had a vague history, but the Missouri rescuers wasted no time worrying about her past; their focus was solely on saving her.
You Matter And Deserve A Family
In no time, this gentle pup won the hearts of everyone at the rescue. A lover of soft, comfy things, she was aptly named Comfy Cozy. “Comfy Cozy – the white pup with crazy cute ears, found on a porch shivering, seeking a quiet home to rest,” SRSL shared on Facebook.
After being safely loaded into the car and rescued from the cold, Comfy Cozy’s next step was to find a suitable foster home. Everything was moving fast! Just a brief time ago, she was bewildered by the kindness shown to her at the facility.
She was oblivious to the fact that people could be so caring and gentle!
“She had NO IDEA a helping hand would come for her; she was so confused. ‘Wait, you’re here for….me?’ Yes, we are here for you! You matter, you are beautiful, you deserve a family, a couch, toys, treats, and a Christmas sweater,” the rescue added.
Now, Comfy Cozy is ready to brighten someone’s life with her sweet smile and lovely personality. She’s the kind of companion that everyone would love to have, and all she really asks for is a comfy spot to rest. That’s it!
