Daisy was just a puppy when her family welcomed her into their home, showering her with unconditional love. She believed they would cherish her forever. Unfortunately, Daisy’s owners made the heart-wrenching decision to surrender her to Midwest Animal ResQ in Raytown, Missouri. When asked why they were giving her up, they stated they were too busy to care for her. Despite the staff’s warning that Daisy might never find another home because of her age, her family showed no concern and left her without a goodbye.
Coming To Terms With The Reality
The staff took her inside and offered words of comfort as Daisy looked out the window, hoping to see her owners return. When reality struck and she realized she had been abandoned, her heart shattered, prompting her to whine and tremble in distress. One heartbroken staff member stayed by her side, aware that the senior dog had lost her only home and was now facing an uncertain future.
The shelter shared a heartbreaking video of Daisy on their Instagram account, stating,
“Everything she’s ever known, gone in an instant. My heart is broken, but not nearly as much as hers,” the shelter wrote.
Devastated viewers hoped that the loving senior girl would find a forever home. The dedicated staff assisted Daisy in navigating this difficult period, doing their best to support her.
A Forever Home That She Deserved
Recognizing that the shelter life would be overwhelming for Daisy, the staff found her a wonderful foster home. Although she initially struggled with sadness and tried to process her change in circumstance, her foster mom consistently worked to lift her spirits. Gradually, Daisy began to play and her sadness faded.
The shelter was inundated with applications for this lovable girl and took the time to ensure they found the perfect fit. Ultimately, they joyfully announced that Daisy had found her forever home.
